In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations primarily using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, measuring instruments, and mechanical blueprints will be essential to fabricating and assembling metal components accurately. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from sheet metal fabrication to complex mechanical assemblies, contributing to the creation of durable, reliable metal structures. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong mechanical knowledge, and a passion for craftsmanship. Responsibilities Execute MIG welding operations on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and ensure precision in fabrication. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to guide welding and assembly processes. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication tasks. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and welding standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS) and ASME codes & standards. Assemble fabricated parts using appropriate welding techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and gas metal arc welding processes. Conduct quality checks on completed welds using shop math skills and measuring instruments to ensure compliance with project specifications. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving pipe threading, mechanical fabrication, metal materials handling, and assembly tasks. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metalworking processes. Hands-on experience with MIG welding techniques across various applications including welding standards. Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and shop math for precise fabrication work. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding environments, power tools usage, and handling of metal materials. Experience working with a variety of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality assurance. Mechanical fabrication or shop experience involving sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, soldering, machining, or assembly is highly desirable. Ability to adhere to strict safety standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship in fast-paced environments aligned with AWS standards. Join us if you're passionate about crafting durable metal structures with precision!
