Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Traveling Welder to join our team and bring expert welding skills directly to various construction sites and fabrication projects across multiple locations. This energetic role requires a proactive individual who thrives on mobility, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality welds in diverse environments. As a Traveling Welder, you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks, fabricating components, and supporting construction and manufacturing teams on-site. Your mechanical knowledge, technical expertise, and adaptability will be key to ensuring project success while maintaining safety standards and quality craftsmanship. When not preforming welding tasks you are expected to help continue site productions which may include but is not limited to loading/unloading trucks, assembling parts, drilling holes, etc. Duties Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), some FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <
LOCATION
> specific welding techniques on various materials including sheet metal, piping, and structural steel. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, welding symbols, and technical drawings to accurately execute fabrication and assembly tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to measure, cut, assemble, and weld components according to specifications. Support fabrication processes such as plasma cutting and mechanical assembly in accordance with ASME codes & standards. Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely to move materials and equipment on-site. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while working in diverse environments including construction sites and manufacturing facilities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects with precision quality standards. Conduct routine inspections of welds using visual inspection techniques and tools like calipers or micrometers to verify compliance with specifications. Support the setup and operation of machining tools or plasma cutters for fabrication needs. Areial platform work (included stage platforms, aerial basket lifts, Scaffolding, Scissor lifts). Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics for measurement and fabrication tasks. Knowledge of rigging practices, plasma cutting equipment. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes in manufacturing or construction settings. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication projects. Experience working with structural steel is a plus. Valid certifications in welding (Stick preferred), rigging certification optional Ability to travel frequently between different job sites while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and safety awareness.
