Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and metal fabrication will contribute to delivering high-quality products for diverse construction and industrial projects. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of metal components. Perform welding operations using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal parts and structures by cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling sheet metal, pipe, ductwork, and other metal materials using power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Operate rigging equipment for lifting and positioning heavy components safely during assembly or installation processes. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to welding, fabrication shop procedures, ASME codes & standards, and general workplace safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members on projects involving pipe threading, soldering, assembly, machining, or other mechanical fabrication tasks as needed. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in welding techniques including
FCAW, MIG
welding, TIG welding, SMAW (stick welding), and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers; basic math skills including shop math necessary for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge of tools such as hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, rigging equipment, pipe threading tools, and machining devices. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and understanding of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments; commitment to maintaining a safe workspace at all times. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team on complex projects involving assembly or installation tasks.
