Welder / Fitter Starting at $22.53 per hour + shift premiums

• Ithaca, MI Read the print. Fit it up. Weld it right. We are an established steel manufacturer in central Michigan. We build heavy steel fabrications, machine bases, and precision plate products for automotive, appliance, tooling, and automation customers. We are now growing our fabrication department for new defense and data center work, and we need skilled welder/fitters to grow with it.

What you'll do Lay out parts and subassemblies from blueprints, assembly instructions, and material lists Fit up and tack weld plate and structural steel MIG weld fabrications to company welding standards, using fixtures and jigs Measure finished assemblies to check them against the print Straighten fabrications with a press and with heat Cut and prep material with saws and hand torches Move material with overhead cranes and lift trucks, and rig loads safely Keep a clean work area and help in other areas when needed What you bring Prior MIG welding experience on steel plate or structural steel Excellent blueprint reading Overhead crane and rigging experience Saw and hand torch experience Knowledge of manufacturing processes Detail-oriented and safety-conscious A strong attendance record and a positive, can-do attitude

Schedule:

Full-time. Must be willing to work any shift. Overtime as required.
