MIG & TIG
Welders - Pontiac, Michigan Six to Eight Week Contract position (potentially longer) Positions available on 1st & 2nd Shift (depending on current equipment availability)
Pay Rate:
$18.00-$38.00 an hour (this will be determined by customer based on Welding test performance) Our customer is seeking (2) TIG Welders and (1) MIG Welder to join them on a temporary nature. The ideal candidate must have hands-on welding experience (MIG and/or TIG), strong attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welded components while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious welder who takes pride in their workmanship and can constantly produce clean and structurally sound welds while meeting production deadlines. Key Responsibilities of the
MIG & TIG
Welders:
Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on metal components and assemblies Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions Set up and operate welding equipment, including selecting appropriate settings, wire, gas, and welding techniques Inspect completed welds for proper penetration, appearance, dimensions, and overall quality Measure and verify parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, fitting, and positioning components prior to welding Perform tack welding and fixture components to maintain proper alignment and dimensions Identify and correct welding defects or quality issues Maintain welding equipment and report equipment or tooling issues as needed Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards Maintain a clean and organized work area Meet established production schedules and quality requirements Perform other welding and fabrication duties as assigned Qualifications of the
MIG and TIG Welders:
1+ year of MIG and/or TIG welding experience required Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols Experience working with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other metals Ability to use basic measuring tools and inspection equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks Ability to lift and move materials as required Welding Certification preferred but not required A successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
