Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Shop Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed technical drawings and specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and products, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency throughout the fabrication process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of metal materials in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment where your craftsmanship makes a real impact. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements. Use various hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Operate plasma cutters, gas metal arc welding equipment, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently. Assemble fabricated components using mechanical knowledge, hand tools, and power tools while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Conduct quality inspections on finished products utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to verify accuracy against specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards; support continuous improvement initiatives within the shop environment. Experience Proven shop fabrication experience working with metal materials such as steel or aluminum in a manufacturing or construction setting. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with construction site experience or construction-related fabrication projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and fabrication environments; certification in welding or related fields is a plus. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for precise fabrication tasks. Join our team where your skills will be valued! Pay:
$19.31 - $22.07 per hour
