Job Description

Vector's partner is in need of a Weld Fitter is responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts and structures to prepare them for welding. The role requires strong blueprint reading skills, precision, and knowledge of metal fabrication processes. 1st Shift - Starting at $23/hr. 2nd Shift - Starting at $24/hr.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.). Fit and align parts using clamps, fixtures, and hand tools. Ensure proper joint fit-up (gap, angle, and alignment) before welding. Rivet fit components in place prior to final welding. Inspect materials and assemblies for accuracy and quality. Work closely with welders to ensure specifications are met. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Use tools such as grinders, torches, saws, and measuring instruments.
Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments. Strong ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core). Experience with structural steel, pipe, or plate fabrication. Proficient with measuring tools (tape measure, squares, calipers). Good math skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift materials and work in industrial environments. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credentials. Trade school or apprenticeship experience. AWS or other welding-related certifications. #IND102
