Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding and fabrication tasks on a variety of metal materials, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship that meets project specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction and manufacturing projects, utilizing your technical expertise and mechanical knowledge to contribute to the creation of durable, reliable structures and components. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding and fabrication requirements. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, pipe, and other metal components utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, gas metal arc welding equipment, and hand tools. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes such as pipe threading, assembly, and metal fabrication projects. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials on construction sites or in fabrication shops. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards and meeting deadlines. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment with a strong understanding of metal materials and welding techniques. Proficiency in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding mechanical blueprints. Skilled in various welding methods including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring tools accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as pipe threading, plasma cutting, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication. Experience with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and the ability to work safely in potentially hazardous environments. Strong shop math skills for precise measurements and calculations required during fabrication tasks. Knowledge of crane operation or working around cranes is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings for accurate fabrication work.
