AMERICAN STEEL WORKS
Experienced Welder / Fabricator American Steel Works is a small, fast-paced welding and fabrication shop that works on a wide variety of projects. We're looking for a well-rounded, experienced Welder/Fabricator who can jump between different types of work and take pride in doing things right.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Read and understand shop drawings and blueprints Accurately measure, lay out, and fit parts MIG weld confidently; TIG and stick experience is a plus Fit and fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel Work with different materials, thicknesses, and types of projects Use grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipment safely Understand weld symbols and basic fabrication terminology Work independently while also being part of a small shop team Maintain good quality and attention to detail Show up on time and take pride in their work Adapt to different projects and tasks as priorities change
ABOUT THE JOB
This is not a repetitive production welding job. We're a small shop, and the work can change from day to day. One day you may be fitting a railing, the next you could be fabricating structural steel, repairing equipment, or working on a custom project. We're willing to train and teach the right person, but we're looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in welding and fabrication and can contribute from day one.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous professional welding/fabrication experience required Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings Strong fitting and layout skills Ability to weld clean, structurally sound welds Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to work safely and efficiently AWS certifications are a plus, but not required
