Job Description

Specialized Construction Services (SCS), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking experienced Traveling Carbon Steel Pipe Welders for an upcoming 10-week industrial project in Troutville, Virginia, just outside Roanoke, VA. This is a traveling position. Qualified candidates from across the United States are encouraged to apply. Position Summary The Pipe Welder will perform carbon steel pipe welding in accordance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and quality standards. Candidates must successfully pass a carbon steel pipe weld test before mobilization.

Troutville, VA (near Roanoke, VA)

Project Duration:

Approximately 10 weeks

Schedule:

6 ten-hour shifts per week (60 hours)

Pay:

$34.00 to $36.00 per hour

Per Diem:

$130 per day, paid 7 days per week

Anticipated Start:

Pending final contract award Responsibilities Perform carbon steel pipe welding in accordance with project specifications. Read and interpret drawings and welding requirements. Produce quality welds while maintaining productivity and safety standards. Maintain welding equipment and personal tools. Follow all company and site safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Previous carbon steel pipe welding experience preferred. Must pass the required carbon steel pipe weld test before starting. Must be able to work a 60-hour work week. Must be willing to travel to Troutville, Virginia. Must provide required personal welding tools. Required Personal Tools Candidates must provide the following: Full body harness Double SRLs 12" adjustable wrench Speed square Torpedo level Tool/gang box Sleever bar 8 lb beater 25' tape measure Chipping hammer Wire brush Leather sleeves Welding hood Two cable tie-offs/cheaters Stinger with 10' lead Compensation SCS offers: $34.00 to $36.00 per hour $130 per day per diem (paid 7 days per week) 60-hour work weeks Approximately 10-week project Why SCS?
