Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding operations on various piping systems, ensuring all work aligns with industry standards and safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects, from installation to repair, across diverse industrial environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced welders passionate about craftsmanship and safety to make a significant impact on large-scale infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform pipe welding using various techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, adhering strictly to AWS standards. Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication and alignment. Prepare pipe surfaces by cleaning, beveling, and fitting components before welding; execute pipe threading and ductwork assembly as required. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment safely to facilitate metal fabrication tasks. Utilize mechanical knowledge and hand tools to assemble, fit, and weld piping systems in accordance with ASME codes & standards and project specifications. Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times; conduct routine inspections of welding equipment and materials for quality assurance. Collaborate with team members on-site, including crane operators, to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining safety standards during fabrication shop or construction site activities. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong background in metal fabrication, pipe welding, or related mechanical work. Certification as a Certified Pipe Welder from an accredited organization such as the American Welding Society (AWS). Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques including
SMAW, GMAW
(MIG), TIG, and FCAW; experience with shielded metal arc welding is essential. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and technical specifications accurately. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring devices; strong shop math skills. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, soldering, plasma cutting, machining processes, and sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments; commitment to maintaining a safe workspace. Experience working with power tools, hand tools, press brake machines, and gas metal arc welding equipment preferred.
