Position Summary The Coalition Community Coordinator builds, manages, and grows PHP's community prevention coalition while implementing youth-focused outreach and prevention programs across the Santa Ynez Valley. This role leads coalition recruitment and engagement, delivers presentations to schools and community groups, and serves as a trusted connector between PHP, families, schools, and community partners. Strong relationship-building and public speaking skills are key to success. Requires flexibility, including evening and occasional weekend hours for events and coalition activities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coalition Building & Management
Serve as the primary staff lead for PHP's prevention coalition — recruiting, onboarding, and engaging members, and growing membership across schools, law enforcement, healthcare, businesses, and local government.

Deliver presentations on substance use prevention and coalition initiatives to schools, parent groups, and community organizations, adapting messaging for each audience.
Represent PHP at community events and public forums, and build lasting relationships with school districts, youth-serving organizations, and local businesses. Youth Programs & Events
Recruit and mentor teens in the PHP Youth Coalition, facilitate peer-led school presentations, and support youth-led service projects like the Backpack Program and Fulfill-a-Wish.
Coordinate logistics for coalition meetings, workshops, and community events, ensuring programming is culturally responsive and inclusive. Data & Partnerships
Document program and coalition activity in Vertical Change, support grant reporting, and share outreach data with the Development team via Bloomerang.
Serve as liaison with schools, law enforcement, and healthcare partners, cultivating new collaborations that strengthen the coalition. Qualifications Education & Experience BA/BS (preferred) or AA/AS with 12+ units in Education, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. Experience building or growing a coalition, task force, or community partnership network strongly preferred; experience with youth or prevention programs a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team. Proficient (or willing to be trained) in Vertical Change and Bloomerang. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable. Must pass a background check, as this role involves direct work with youth.
