Description We are looking for a Voter Engagement Ambassador (Nonpartisan) to support outreach initiatives for a non-profit organization in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This Contract position focuses on strengthening community connections, coordinating public-facing activities, and assisting with program documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound administrative judgment, and experience working with community members across civic engagement and voter registration-related services. Must be willing to travel to support and help manage scheduled events.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate community outreach efforts that build awareness of programs and encourage participation across diverse audiences.
Prepare, organize, and maintain support documentation to ensure program records are accurate, complete, and easy to access.
Manage registration activities from events or civic initiatives while ensuring information is recorded correctly.
Engage people through voter contact and voter registration efforts that promote informed and active community participation.
Represent the organization as a detail-oriented ambassador at outreach events, public meetings, and community-facing programs.
Support social media community management with content creation and helping maintain a consistent public presence. Requirements
Experience in community engagement, outreach coordination, or a related public-facing support role.
Ability to handle support documentation with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Experience building positive relationships with individuals of varying backgrounds, identities, and beliefs.
Knowledge of registration processes, including accurate data collection and follow-up coordination.
Comfortable supporting voter contact or voter registration activities in a community setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively
Experience using Microsoft Office
Must be willing to travel to support and set-up/take down scheduled events.
