Assistant Director, Volunteer Services

Job Description

The Manes JCC (fka Mid-Island Y JCC) is seeking a dynamic, high-energy professional to serve as Assistant Director of Volunteer Services. This role is designed for an individual who is a creative and community mobilizer, detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of designing, executing, and managing programs that resonate with a diverse community. These programs will include strengthening the impact of the Rudman Family Food Pantry to developing programs that respond to community needs, support older adults, holocaust survivors and local families.
Essential Responsibilities Program Creation & Execution:
Lead the end-to-end development of innovative volunteer projects. In partnership with the Director of Volunteer Services, you will assist in taking ideas from concept to "day-of" execution.
Strategic Community Outreach:
Actively engage and manage relationships with schools, synagogues, corporate partners, and civic organizations to expand the number of volunteers and impact.
Event Coordination:
Direct and support large-scale group volunteer experiences, including corporate service days, community-wide projects, and holiday initiatives.
Volunteer Mobilization:
Recruit, onboard, and engage volunteers across all JCC initiatives, ensuring a high-quality experience for every participant.
Pantry & Resource Support:
Coordinate donations, acknowledgments, and food requests for the Rudman Family Food Pantry as part of our core community mission.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate records and databases for volunteer participation, donor contributions, and client information.
Required Education & Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
3+ of direct experience in community outreach, non-profit programming, and/or event coordination preferred.
Proven Track Record:
Demonstrated success in building and managing programs and managing complex community events. Knowledge & Key Competencies The "Innovator"

Communication:
A responsive and energetic individual with exceptional oral and written skills with the ability to represent the JCC to corporate and community leaders.
Organization:
Superior project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and prioritize effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable with database management.
Hours and Flexibility:
While primarily a Monday-Friday 24-hours a week role, flexibility is essential for evenings and occasional weekends to support live programs and community events.
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
