The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers who deliver meals and support senior services. Role ensures that enough volunteers are available to maintain reliable meal delivery routes and community programs. The role also serves as a community liaison , building relationships with corporations, faith groups, civic clubs, and community organizations to attract volunteers. Core Responsibilities Develop outreach strategies to recruit new volunteers Conduct presentations to civic groups, corporations, and faith communities Attend volunteer fairs, health fairs, and community events Build relationships with corporate volunteer programs Volunteer Onboarding & Training Conduct volunteer orientations Provide training on delivery procedures and client interaction Coordinate background checks and documentation Ensure volunteers understand safety protocols Scheduling & Route Coverage Assign volunteers to delivery routes Maintain weekly delivery schedules Fill open routes quickly when volunteers cancel Coordinate with operations and transportation staff Volunteer Engagement & Retention Maintain volunteer communication and engagement Organize volunteer appreciation events Recognize milestones and service hours Address volunteer concerns or conflicts Data & Reporting Maintain volunteer records and hours Track volunteer participation Report recruitment metrics and coverage rates Support grant reporting related to volunteer impact Volunteer Recruitment Manager will maintain volunteer databases, schedule activities, and support volunteers throughout their service to ensure alignment with the organization's mission. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (communications, nonprofit management, public relations, or related field) 2-4 years experience in volunteer coordination, outreach, or community engagement Strong public speaking and relationship-building skills Experience with volunteer databases or CRM systems Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events Key Success Metrics Community Engagement Manager will be measured on: Number of new volunteers recruited monthly Route coverage rate (open vs filled routes) Volunteer retention rates Corporate volunteer partnerships secured Community presentations conducted
