This position is primarily responsible for enhancing the member experience through exceptional customer service, membership retention efforts, and consistent communication with members. The Membership & Communications Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for Chamber members, ensuring they understand and maximize the value of their membership while helping communicate Chamber programs, events, and initiatives. Key Responsibilities Membership Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
Welcome new members and guide them through the onboarding process.
Provide member portal training and support to new and existing members.
Conduct regular member outreach to increase engagement and encourage participation in Chamber programs.
Support membership retention through proactive communication and relationship building.
Maintain accurate member records within the Chamber's membership database.
Coordinate ribbon cuttings, milestones, member spotlights, and other member recognition opportunities.
Help identify opportunities to increase member value and satisfaction. Communications & Marketing
Develop and distribute regular member communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and announcements.
Format and distribute the Chamber's Monthly E-Magazine.
Assist in keeping the website and member information current.
Create and schedule social media content promoting members, events, and Chamber initiatives.
Create marketing materials using Canva or similar design platforms.
Ensure consistent branding across all communications. Administrative & Event Support
Assist with planning and executing Chamber networking events, educational programs, and signature events.
Support event registration, attendee communication, and follow-up.
Prepare reports related to membership activity and engagement.
Maintain organized electronic files and office records.
Provide general administrative support to the President as needed. Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience in membership organizations, member services, membership sales, or business development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Canva.
Experience with CRM or membership database software is preferred.
Social media management experience and Chamber/non-profit experience is a plus! Preferred Characteristics

Passion for supporting local businesses and community development.
Ability to occasionally work evenings/weekends for Chamber events.

Position Details Part-Time:

Approximately 28 hours per week Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends for events. Compensation based on experience. 11 Paid Holidays + PTO About the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce serves over 400 businesses and organizations throughout Branford, Guilford, and North Branford. Through networking opportunities, advocacy, community events, and business development programs, the Chamber works to strengthen the local business community and enhance the economic vitality of the shoreline region.
