Patient Communication Specialist Bengoa Eye Care | Winnemucca, Nevada Bengoa Eye Care is looking for a Patient Communication Specialist to join our team! This position is an important part of creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for our patients from the moment they contact us through their visit. We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with both patients and coworkers. The right person will enjoy staying busy, keeping things organized, and helping wherever needed to keep our office running smoothly. Primary Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions Schedule and reschedule patient appointments Manage patient communication through Weave , including: Text messages Voicemails Waitlist management Prepare patient charts prior to appointments Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility Scan documents and paper records into patient charts Complete accurate and timely data entry Set and maintain patient recalls in OfficeMate Assist patients and coworkers with insurance-related questions Monitor and manage the Bengoa Eye Care information email Send electronic correspondence to patients Maintain accurate and organized patient information Complete additional duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor Secondary Responsibilities This position will also cross-train and provide support in other areas of the practice as needed, including: Provide front desk support and coverage when needed Help keep the front office clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day Pretest patients Perform retinal photography Administer visual field testing Dispense glasses and contact lenses Assist patients with eyewear and contact lens purchases Teach insertion and removal (I&R) to new contact lens patients Perform basic eyewear adjustments and repairs What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working with people and providing excellent patient service Communicates clearly and professionally Is dependable and follows through on responsibilities Pays close attention to details Is comfortable learning new systems and procedures Can multitask while staying organized Works well as part of a team Is willing to learn and cross-train in different areas of the practice Understands that every member of our team plays a role in creating a positive patient experience Why Join Bengoa Eye Care?
