The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for the overall experience of WCMU's digital listeners, viewers, and readers. This includes design and management of WCMU.org and production of WCMU's monthly program guide. This position also coordinates, produces and develops graphics for use across the organization. The Digital Media Coordinator will stay up-to-date on best practices tied to website design, social media, and digital publications, apps, and sponsorships.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in art, graphic design, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; or four years equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years professional experience, preferably in digital media, website design, or graphic design. Ability to managing multiple projects and working successfully under the pressure of deadlines, while managing competing priorities. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Experience with graphic design, including creating graphics, infographics, logos, printed publications, posters, flyers, etc. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Experience using content management systems such as Grove (Brightspot), WordPress, or similar. Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity using Constant Contact or a similar email newsletter publication tool. Experience in a professional journalism or broadcast media environment. Experience with digital marketing and revenue, in particular utilizing Google Ad Manager. Familiarity with advanced Adobe Creative Cloud products, including After Effects, Animate, Audition, and Premiere. Familiarity with Google Analytics, and experience using analytics data to guide digital strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Creates, curates, sources, prepares and edits content and materials for publishing and sharing across all of WCMUs social and digital media channels, including WCMU.org, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, the WCMU Mobile App, and others. Collaborates with WCMUs content producers and other station staff to identify opportunities for developing digital content elements that will enhance the quality of our digital stories, programs and strategic endeavors. Identifies opportunities for connecting with our community and our audience via digital channels, and work with the team on making those connections. Maintains awareness of best practices in social and digital media, and work with the team to inform WCMUs activities within those spaces. Manages publication of The Guide, WCMUs monthly print and digital program guide, distributed to 14,000 WCMU members. Responsibilities include design, layout, editing, and content creation for the final publication. In collaboration with the marketing team, develops, implements and maintains brand standards across the organization. Manages WCMUs sponsorships across all digital platforms. Provides support for events and engagement initiatives, fostering meaningful connections with our community. Works closely with the programming, development, marketing, and fundraising teams to enhance our digital presence and strategy, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement. Identifies and participate in regular professional development opportunities.
