This might be the dream job for the right welder. Get paid to weld. Build cool projects. Create videos. Teach people the craft. Help grow a welding brand. And spend your days working in a fully equipped welding shop with a small, creative team. This is not a traditional production welding job. We're looking for a talented welder and fabricator who is creative, comfortable in front of a camera, enjoys social media, and wants to do something a little different with their welding career. If you're the type of person who's constantly thinking, "That would be cool to build," and you'd be just as comfortable explaining that build on camera as you are welding it together, keep reading.
WHO WE ARE
1 Day Welder is an online welding education company built around making welding approachable, practical, and fun. We've helped more than 30,000 students learn MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, many of whom started from zero in their own garages. Our business combines welding education, social media content, welding projects and blueprints, digital products, physical products, and a growing online community. We're a small company, which means this isn't a job where you'll be stuck doing one thing all day. We're looking for someone who wants to become a real part of the brand and help us continue building it.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
A big part of this job is welding and building things. You'll help design, fabricate, and build projects that can become educational content, social media videos, project blueprints, new products, and other material for the 1 Day Welder brand.
That could include:
Fire pits and smokers Metal furniture Shop tools and equipment Welding projects and beginner builds Metal art and sculptures Mixed metal and wood projects Custom builds New project and product concepts And probably plenty of things we haven't thought of yet We want someone who brings their own creativity and ideas to the shop. Some projects will be assigned. Others may start with you saying, "I've got an idea. What if we built this?"
CONTENT & SOCIAL MEDIA
The other major part of this role is turning what happens in the shop into content people actually want to watch. You'll be involved with content across platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other digital channels. Depending on the project and platform, you may: Appear in videos Demonstrate MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques Teach beginner welding concepts Film project builds from start to finish Create short-form social media content Help create longer educational videos Review welding machines, tools, and equipment Film behind-the-scenes shop content Help brainstorm video concepts, hooks, and new content ideas Take photos and videos of projects Help manage and post to social media accounts Engage with the 1 Day Welder community Answer beginner welding questions Help develop new ways to grow our social platforms and audience You do not need to already be a professional influencer. You don't need a massive following. And you don't need to walk in as a professional videographer. We can teach a lot of the technical side of creating welding content. What we can't teach as easily is personality. You need to be comfortable in front of a camera, able to talk naturally, have some fun with it, and explain what you're doing without sounding like you're reading an instruction manual. We're looking for someone personable, easygoing, creative, and genuinely excited about welding.
THE WELDING
This is not an entry-level welding position. You need real hands-on welding and fabrication experience. You should already be comfortable working independently in a shop and taking a project from an idea or set of plans through fabrication and completion.
You should have:
MIG welding experience TIG welding experience Stick welding experience Metal fabrication skills Experience with layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, grinding, and finishing The ability to independently complete welding projects A strong understanding of welding fundamentals and safety The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as you build You don't need 30 years of professional welding experience, and we're not overly concerned with where you learned. We care about whether you can weld, you can build, you can communicate, and you're willing to learn. Welding instructors, fabricators, experienced hobbyists, welding content creators, and skilled weekend warriors are all encouraged to apply.
THE SHOP
You'll be working in our shop in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, with access to equipment including: MIG, TIG, and Stick welders Full 4' × 8' CNC plasma table Fixture tables Oxy-acetylene equipment Downdraft table Grinders and finishing equipment Fabrication and hand tools Safety equipment Plenty of room to build and experiment We want this to be a place where someone who genuinely loves welding can come in every morning excited about what they're going to build or create next.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
We're a small team, so everyone occasionally pitches in wherever they're needed.
That will include:
Helping pack and ship 1 Day Welder books, materials, and customer orders Preparing outgoing orders and shipping materials Receiving and organizing inventory and supplies Keeping the shop and fulfillment areas organized Helping with other day-to-day shop and business needs as they come up
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Beyond welding ability, we're looking for the right personality.
Someone who is:
Creative Fun and easygoing Comfortable on camera Dependable Self-motivated Comfortable working independently Excited to collaborate and throw ideas around Interested in social media and content creation Able to communicate with beginners without talking down to them Willing to experiment, learn, and occasionally try something that doesn't work Excited about helping build something bigger Experience with social media management, photography, videography, video editing, teaching, metal art, or content creation is a plus, but not necessarily required.
HOW TO APPLY
Send us: Photos of your work — welds, projects, fabrication, metal art, or anything you've built that you're proud of. A little about your experience — what you've welded, what you've built, and what type of projects you enjoy. Tell us what you'd build if you had access to a fully equipped welding shop and a camera. Your social media accounts or examples of content, if you have them. This is not required. Your résumé, if you have one. We're more interested in what you can actually build and how you communicate than how fancy your résumé looks. If you're comfortable doing so, feel free to include a short video introducing yourself. It doesn't need to be polished — we'd rather see your personality. 1 Day Welder is an equal opportunity employer.
