Part-Time | Approximately 20-30 hours/week, with additional hours available during busy seasons We're Looking for Our Next Creative Teammate! Do you love flowers, plants, design, photography, and creating content that makes people stop scrolling? Roots on 9th is looking for a Social Media & Content Creator to join our team! But here's the important part: this is an in-person, hands-on position. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the shop—not someone who only wants to manage social media from behind a screen. We believe the best content comes from actually knowing our business, our customers, our products, and what makes Roots on 9th special. You'll spend time working throughout the shop and greenhouse, getting to know our team and customers, while also capturing all the fun things happening here. What You'll Do Social Media & Content Create fun, fresh photo and video content throughout our flower shop, greenhouse, and design center Create Reels, Stories, TikToks, and other short-form content Take photos and videos of new arrivals, flowers, plants, products, weddings, events, workshops, and behind-the-scenes moments Write engaging captions that fit the Roots on 9th personality—bright, creative, positive, and a little playful Help keep our Instagram fresh and active, with occasional Facebook and TikTok content Stay up to date on social media trends and know how to turn them into content that feels authentic to our business Help engage with our online community through comments, messages, and Stories Being Part of the Shop Greet and assist customers in the store Answer phones and help with customer questions Help with checkout and general retail tasks Assist with keeping the shop and greenhouse looking great Help with merchandising, watering, cleaning, and other day-to-day shop tasks Assist with workshops, events, and special projects Jump in wherever needed—because at Roots on 9th, we all wear a few different hats! Why This Matters You don't need to know everything about flowers and plants when you walk through our door, but you should be excited to learn. The more you understand our products, our customers, our design process, and what happens behind the scenes, the better your content will be. We want someone who is curious, creative, and genuinely interested in becoming part of what we do. We're Looking For Someone Who... Has a great eye for design, photography, and detail Enjoys creating short-form video and has experience with Instagram Reels, Stories, and TikTok Understands social media trends and knows how to have fun with them Is comfortable being around customers and working in a retail environment Is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable answering phones and helping customers Is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and willing to jump in wherever needed Can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team Has a genuine interest in flowers, plants, design, or the creative world Is available to work weekends Schedule This is an in-person, part-time position averaging around 20 hours per week. Our schedule can be somewhat flexible, but weekend availability is a must. We host many of our workshops and events on weekends, and those are some of our biggest opportunities for content! Hours can increase significantly during our busy seasons, especially around holidays, weddings, and major events.
