Schedule:
Approximately 20-30 hours per week initially, with flexible scheduling and occasional travel for meetings, campus events, and photo shoots
Compensation:
$17-$35 per hour part-time depending on experience. This role will have commission and frequent bonus opportunities About the Position Iowa Custom T-Shirts & Hats is launching a new department focused on fun, trendy, and officially licensed fraternity and sorority apparel and merchandise. We are looking for a creative, organized, and results-driven Project Manager to help build this department from the ground up. This person will oversee product development, licensing, e-commerce, marketing, customer outreach, photo shoots, advertising, and product launches. The ideal candidate understands fraternity and sorority culture, follows collegiate fashion trends, and knows how to turn creative ideas into products and campaigns that generate sales. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys combining creativity, project management, e-commerce, and relationship building. Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment and Project Management Develop the systems, timelines, and workflows needed to launch and manage the new fraternity and sorority merchandise department. Create and maintain product-launch calendars, marketing calendars, licensing schedules, and campaign deadlines. Coordinate projects between designers, photographers, production staff, marketing partners, and overseas technology teams. Keep projects organized, on schedule, and within budget. Identify operational problems and create repeatable systems to solve them. Product Development and Licensing Research fraternity, sorority, campus, and collegiate apparel trends. Develop original, relevant product concepts for men and women. Create designs or prepare detailed creative direction for other designers. Coordinate licensing submissions, approvals, revisions, and recordkeeping. Ensure products follow applicable trademark, licensing, and brand standards. Select apparel styles, colors, decoration methods, pricing, and product collections. Maintain an organized pipeline of upcoming designs and approved products. E-Commerce and Website Management Create and optimize online product listings, including product names, descriptions, images, pricing, options, and search information. Work with overseas technology teams to develop polished, high-converting websites and shopping experiences. Review the website regularly for accuracy, usability, mobile performance, and conversion opportunities. Coordinate product updates, landing pages, collection pages, promotions, and seasonal launches. Help ensure inventory, production capabilities, and advertised availability remain aligned. Marketing and Advertising Plan product launches and promotional campaigns across social media, email, paid advertising, and campus outreach. Develop campaign concepts, creative briefs, offers, and messaging. Monitor advertising performance and make changes based on results. Review conversion rate, customer acquisition cost, return on advertising spend, average order value, gross margin, and overall sales. Test different products, audiences, advertisements, offers, and landing pages. Build a reporting dashboard and provide regular recommendations based on performance. Photography and Creative Direction Plan and coordinate lifestyle and product photo shoots. Select models, locations, products, styling, props, and shot lists. Make sure photography and video content represent current campus styles and trends. Organize finished creative assets for websites, social media, advertisements, email campaigns, and future use. Campus Sales and Customer Outreach Build relationships with fraternity and sorority chapter officers, merchandise chairs, recruitment chairs, social chairs, alumni groups, and campus organizations. Introduce customers to both ready-to-order merchandise and fully customized apparel programs. Follow up with prospective customers and manage opportunities from first contact through completed order. Help develop campus ambassador, referral, and chapter partnership programs. Attend selected campus events, chapter meetings, trade shows, or promotional events. Gather customer feedback and use it to improve products and campaigns. Qualifications Strong project-management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong creative judgment and an understanding of apparel and online shopping trends. Ability to manage several launches, deadlines, and contributors simultaneously. Comfortable reviewing numbers and making decisions based on performance data. Experience with e-commerce, digital marketing, apparel, design, merchandising, or customer outreach. Familiarity with tools such as Shopify, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Ads, Google Ads, email marketing platforms, or project-management software is beneficial. Comfortable working with remote and international development or technology teams. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and turn broad goals into detailed action plans. Willingness to occasionally work around photo shoots, launches, campus events, or seasonal deadlines. Preferred Experience Firsthand familiarity with fraternity and sorority life, campus organizations, collegiate apparel, or student marketing. Previous involvement in a fraternity, sorority, campus organization, student government, or collegiate marketing program. Experience developing or launching consumer products. Experience creating apparel graphics or directing designers. Knowledge of collegiate licensing and trademark approval processes. Experience managing paid advertising or analyzing e-commerce performance. Current college students and recent graduates are welcome to apply, provided they have the availability and experience needed to manage the position's responsibilities. Fraternity or sorority membership is not required. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will: Establish an organized system for product development, licensing, launches, and marketing. Build an initial catalog of appealing, properly approved products. Launch a polished and easy-to-shop online storefront. Maintain a consistent schedule of new products and seasonal campaigns. Develop a growing pipeline of fraternity and sorority custom-apparel customers. Use analytics to improve advertising, product selection, website conversion, and profitability.
