Our client, an eCommerce seller in Kansas City MO seeks a reliable, energetic, creative, and competent person to join their small e-commerce team. Get in on the ground floor of this exciting endeavor to use your marketing and social media skills! This Social Media and e-Commerce Assistant role has four main areas of responsibility: 1. Packing & shipping customer orders 2. Hosting livestreams to sell products 3. Creating social media content that helps sell our products 4. Helping with everything else it takes to run a small e-commerce business We are a very small team, so this is not a narrowly defined position. The balance of the job will change based on what the business needs. Some weeks may be heavy on shipping, others on social media or livestreaming, and you'll regularly help with projects and tasks outside those areas. Livestream Selling & Social Media A major part of this position is being comfortable and engaging on camera. You'll help:
Host livestream sales on TikTok, Whatnot, Poshmark, eBay Live, and other platforms
Present products naturally, interact with viewers, and help drive sales
Create short-form videos, product demonstrations, and other social content
Brainstorm and experiment with content ideas
Set up attractive backgrounds, displays, lighting, and filming areas
Help edit and post simple social media content We'll provide the equipment and materials, you'll help bring the creativity, personality, and execution.
Professional social media experience is not required, but you must genuinely enjoy being on camera and be able to communicate naturally and confidently. Shipping & Order Fulfillment You'll help make sure customer orders go out quickly and accurately, including:
Pulling, packing, and shipping daily orders
Verifying orders for accuracy
Keeping inventory and shipping areas organized
Handling increased order volume during busy periods and sales Everything Else With only a few people running the day-to-day business, everyone wears a lot of hats.
You should expect to regularly work on things outside the three areas above.
That could include:
Creating listings on eBay and other marketplaces
Taking product photos and researching products
Receiving and organizing inventory
Responding to customer messages
Cleaning and organizing the warehouse
Moving boxes, products, and equipment
Preparing for sales or special projects
Helping solve problems as they come up
Taking on new responsibilities as the business changes You may end up doing a dozen different kinds of tasks in a given month. We're looking for someone who likes that variety and is willing to jump in wherever needed rather than someone who wants a tightly defined job description. Flexible and willing to do whatever needs to get done Short Video Audition Candidates who move forward will be asked to complete a simple 1+ minute video audition: Choose an everyday product you own and pretend you're selling it during a social media livestream.
We're interested in your personality, communication, creativity, and ability to make a product interesting—not professional video quality. If you've created social media content you're proud of, we'd also love to see examples, but previous professional experience is not required. Schedule & Pay
