This position serves as a key resource for both customers and internal teams while helping identify and develop opportunities to grow Medicatech USA's veterinary division. The Specialist will develop in-depth knowledge of the company's veterinary equipment, instruments, supplies, and accessories while supporting accurate quoting, competitive sourcing, inventory management, and timely order fulfillment. The role also plays an active part in generating leads, developing customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Expertise & Customer Support Serve as the primary product resource for veterinary equipment, instruments, supplies, and accessories. Maintain current knowledge of product specifications, applications, compatibility, pricing, availability, and lead times. Answer product questions from customers, sales representatives, customer service, and internal teams. Assist with product selection, comparisons, quotations, and recommendations. Research new products, competitors, and industry trends and provide recommendations to leadership. Maintain accurate product information and supporting materials. Inventory, Orders & Fulfillment Maintain organized and accurate veterinary inventory and assist with inventory counts and reconciliation. Monitor inventory levels, backorders, shortages, and reorder requirements. Process veterinary orders and coordinate fulfillment with sales, purchasing, warehouse, and shipping. Review orders for specifications, quantities, pricing, availability, and special requirements. Assist with resolving order discrepancies and fulfillment issues. Maintain accurate product, inventory, and order information in Odoo. Identify opportunities to improve inventory and fulfillment processes. Vendor & Purchasing Support Communicate with manufacturers and distributors regarding pricing, availability, specifications, lead times, and orders. Request and compare vendor quotations, including product costs, shipping, lead times, and purchasing terms. Maintain organized vendor pricing and quotation records. Research alternative vendors when products are unavailable or not competitively priced. Assist with purchase orders, vendor selection, and routine purchasing decisions. Identify opportunities to improve margins through vendor comparison and purchasing efficiencies. Business Development & Lead Generation Identify veterinary clinics, hospitals, practices, and other prospective customers. Conduct targeted phone and email outreach to introduce relevant products and services. Follow up with leads generated through marketing, trade shows, website inquiries, referrals, and other sources. Identify equipment replacement, expansion, new-practice, and supply opportunities. Conduct initial product consultations to understand customer needs and identify appropriate solutions. Qualify opportunities and handle product opportunities directly, or hand off to sales representatives when appropriate. Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information in Odoo. Marketing & Product Support Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns promoting veterinary products and services. Provide accurate product specifications, features, benefits, pricing, images, and competitive information. Identify products, promotions, seasonal opportunities, and customer needs for marketing campaigns. Assist with email campaigns, website content, social media, promotional materials, and product launches. Review veterinary product content for accuracy. Provide marketing with customer feedback, frequently asked questions, and product trends. Performance Expectations Success in this position will be measured through a combination of product support, operational accuracy, and business development, including: Qualified prospects and opportunities generated Consistent outbound prospecting and customer follow-up New veterinary accounts and sales opportunities Product consultations and quotations Revenue and pipeline influenced Order and inventory accuracy Vendor responsiveness and purchasing efficiency Quality and accuracy of product information Support of marketing campaigns and product launches The position does not carry an individual sales commission or bonus structure. Qualifications 5+ years of veterinary industry experience preferred, including veterinary technician, veterinary assistant, practice management, or veterinary equipment/supply experience. Strong understanding of veterinary clinic workflows, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to research and compare products, specifications, pricing, and vendor information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating with veterinary professionals, vendors, customers, and internal teams. Comfortable with phone and email outreach and developing professional customer relationships. Experience with inventory, purchasing, quotations, order processing, or business development preferred. Experience with Odoo, ERP, CRM, or inventory systems is a plus. Self-directed, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities. This role qualifies for quarterly performance bonuses.
