Position Description:
The Market Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the development and management of distribution and retail partner relationships. This role focuses on expanding the company's presence by identifying, onboarding, and growing strategic retail and distribution accounts, while promoting products and solutions to ultimately reach end-users. Sales activities are primarily conducted through face-to-face engagement, supported by ongoing relationship management and strategic account planning. The Market Sales Manager is a fully qualified, experienced professional with comprehensive knowledge of the company's products, services, and market landscape. The role requires independent ownership of a complex or large territory, including developing and executing sales strategies, managing pipelines, and negotiating product and service terms. The individual applies advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to address diverse and sometimes ambiguous challenges, adapting approaches to meet evolving customer and market needs. This position involves building and influencing relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, often requiring persuasive communication and tailored engagement strategies. The Market Sales Manager is expected to create and refine lead generation plans, drive new account development, and expand existing partnerships while serving as a trusted advisor to customers. Additionally, the role may provide guidance to less experienced colleagues and contribute to broader sales initiatives, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute territory and account strategies to achieve or exceed sales and revenue targets within retail and distribution channels. Identify, prospect, and onboard new retail and distribution partners to expand market reach and drive incremental growth. Manage and grow existing accounts by strengthening relationships, increasing product penetration, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities. Conduct regular in-person meetings, presentations, and business reviews with partners to promote products, pricing, and programs. Negotiate product offerings, pricing, and contract terms within established guidelines to secure and retain business. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by creating, monitoring, and adjusting lead generation and account development plans. Analyze sales performance, market trends, and partner feedback to identify opportunities and optimize sales strategies. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain, finance, customer support) to ensure effective execution and partner satisfaction. Serve as a trusted advisor to partners by providing insights, training, and support on product offerings, merchandising, and market positioning. Resolve complex customer and partner issues by applying sound judgment, adapting approaches, and coordinating cross-functional solutions. Maintain accurate account records, forecasts, and sales activity tracking using CRM systems and reporting tools. Provide informal leadership and guidance to less experienced team members and contribute to broader sales initiatives and best practice sharing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5 years of related experience preferred
