As our Commercial Insurance Marketing & Placement Manager, you will lead the Commercial Marketing team, guide complex new and renewal placements, and own key carrier relationships and strategy. Why This Role Is Worth a Conversation Competitive salary of $105,000-$140,000, based on experience and qualifications Monday-Friday schedule in a 37.5-hour workweek Opportunity to lead a great team within a collaborative and fast growing organization Strategic influence over carrier relationships, market access, placement standards, and profitable growth Hands-on involvement in complex, high-revenue, and challenging new and renewal accounts Paid licensing, continuing education, and support for professional designations Strong benefits, paid time off, annual bonus/incentive eligibility, and retirement benefits What You'll Do You will serve as both the people leader for the Commercial Marketing team and the agency's senior resource for carrier strategy and complex market placement. Lead the marketing and placement of Commercial accounts, partnering with the Commercial Marketing and Sales teams to obtain competitive terms and pricing for new and renewal business Proactively manage the Sales renewal process and provide guidance on communication and marketing strategy Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Marketing team through clear expectations, regular feedback, performance reviews, and accountability Directly supervise the Commercial Marketing team, including responsibility for hiring, performance management, and other employment decisions in partnership with Human Resources Monitor carrier commitments, communicate goal status, and direct Marketing team efforts toward carrier partners that support agency profitability Coordinate effectively with the Commercial Client, Service, and Sales teams Maintain a structured departmental action plan covering current projects, pending initiatives, and future priorities aligned with agency goals Coordinate carrier visits, oversee meetings, document outcomes, and serve as a primary internal resource for carrier contacts and Commercial insurance information Build strong relationships with underwriters and representatives at carriers, MGAs, and wholesalers while maintaining knowledge of target classes and competitive options Assist the President and Leadership Team in establishing and monitoring annual Commercial Department and carrier goals Identify and implement marketing strategies involving products, services, target markets, and carrier selection; evaluate potential new carrier appointments and coordinate required documentation with Compliance Develop profitable-growth strategies with carriers and Sales leadership; coach Sales employees on Commercial marketing and renewal processes and reinforce accountability to internal procedures Manage accounts as needed, collaborate with Marketing Specialists on key or challenging accounts, provide backup support, and promptly report potential errors and omissions Evaluate emerging technology and vendor partnerships that may improve operational efficiency and service capabilities Perform other duties as assigned by management
What We're Looking For Required:
Active New York State Property & Casualty License 7+ years of insurance-industry experience specifically in Commercial marketing 2+ years of management experience Prior experience within an independent insurance agency or brokerage, including agency-side marketing and placement of Commercial Lines accounts Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong relationship-building, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, accuracy, sound judgment, and discretion Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly
Word and Excel Preferred:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience Insurance-industry designation or advanced training Applied Epic experience You'll Be a Great Fit If You...
