Summary:
The Marketing Director leads CSB's marketing function and is accountable for building the bank's brand, deepening community presence, and — most importantly — driving measurable growth in deposits, loans, and customer relationships. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, setting direction for the marketing team while also contributing directly to campaigns, content, and creative work. The Director partners closely with retail, lending, and operations leaders to translate business goals into marketing programs that produce results.
Essential Functions:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Strategic Marketing Leadership Develop and execute the bank's annual and long-term marketing strategy in alignment with CSB's business goals and growth targets. Own the marketing budget; allocate spend across channels and initiatives to maximize return. Translate executive priorities into marketing plans with clear objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Sales Growth & Campaign Strategy Partner with retail, commercial lending, and other revenue-generating teams to identify growth opportunities and design marketing programs that drive sales volume. Build and execute product marketing campaigns for deposit, loan, and treasury management products, with clear KPIs tied to business results (new accounts, loan production, balance growth, etc.). Track campaign performance and continuously refine tactics based on what's actually moving the numbers. Serve as a thought partner to line-of-business leaders on lead generation, cross-sell strategy, and customer acquisition. Brand, Advertising & Creative Steward the CSB brand across all customer-facing touchpoints, ensuring consistency in voice, visual identity, and customer experience. Direct the development of advertising, creative, and collateral — including reviewing and contributing to copy, design, and messaging as needed. Manage relationships with external agencies, designers, printers, and media partners. Digital Marketing, Website & Social Media Oversee the bank's website, digital advertising, email marketing, and social media presence. Ensure digital properties are current, on-brand, compliant, and optimized for conversion. Apply SEO, paid media, and marketing automation practices appropriate to a community bank. Community Relations, Sponsorships & Events Lead the bank's community engagement strategy, including sponsorships, charitable giving, and event presence. Coordinate signature bank events and represent CSB at community functions as appropriate. Ensure community investments are aligned with the bank's brand, values, and strategic market priorities. Internal & External Communications Oversee internal communications that keep employees informed and connected to the bank's strategy and brand. Manage public relations activities, including press releases, media relations, and executive communications. Serve as a key communications partner during organizational announcements, product launches, and, as appropriate, crisis communications. Market Research & Analytics Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to inform strategy and identify opportunities. Establish marketing metrics and reporting; deliver regular performance updates to senior management and the Board as requested. Use data to evaluate ROI on marketing programs and guide future investment decisions. Team Leadership & Supervision Supervise the marketing team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and professional development. Set clear goals, priorities, and standards of performance; create an environment where the team can do its best work. Act as a player-coach — leading the team while remaining hands-on in the work when needed. Regulatory & Compliance Alignment Ensure all marketing materials and communications comply with applicable banking regulations, including advertising, disclosure, and fair lending requirements. Partner with Compliance to maintain appropriate review processes for marketing content. Demonstrate a commitment to CSB's vision, mission, and core values, and seek to align one's behavior in a way that gives these foundational principles the best chance at becoming a reality.
