Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater.
All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

JOB SUMMARY:
The New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (the bureau), a research division of New Mexico Tech, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Product Manager to lead the development and implementation of data sharing applications for the Water Data and Data Services Programs. This position will largely be focused on Aquifer Characterization Data Systems within the Data Services Group. Responsibilities include guiding the strategy, design, and delivery of data sharing applications, ensuring they meet the needs of scientists, researchers, and staff who rely on laboratory, and field time series data. The Product Manager will act as a key liaison between technical teams, researchers, and leadership to assist with user research, drive adoption and ensure long-term success of the platform. The product manager will also maintain the product backlog and user stories for the systems, as well as refining user stories for sprint planning. While local candidates are preferred, this position is available for hybrid/remote work for highly qualified candidates.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Providing product management and strategic oversight for the AEM (Airborne Electromagnetic Surveys) data storage and management system.
Coordinating contractors, technical staff, and researchers engaged in the design, development, and implementation of the AEM data storage and management system, and other data management and viewing applications.
Working with aquifer characterization scientists to define data management requirements, priorities, and workflows.
Developing long-term strategies for organizing, preserving, and providing access to aquifer characterization datasets, including digitized well logs, and survey data.
Establishing consistent data organization, metadata, and storage practices across aquifer characterization projects.
