Job Description

SENIOR AI VISIBILITY & ORGANIC SEARCH CONSULTANT
Job Summary Cause Inspired is a digital marketing agency working exclusively with nonprofit organizations. Our team supports hundreds of nonprofit partners through Google Ad Grants management, paid media, organic search, website services, analytics, and other digital marketing strategies. The Senior Organic Search & AI Visibility Consultant is a senior client-facing strategist responsible for helping nonprofit organizations improve how they are discovered, understood, and represented across traditional search engines, answer engines, and generative AI experiences. The role combines organic search strategy, AI visibility, technical SEO, analytics and tracking, client consultation, and direct optimization work. In addition to client fulfillment, this position helps develop and strengthen Cause Inspired's SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) services through best-practice development, documentation, training, project management, and cross-functional support. This position reports to the Head of Strategy & Development and requires independent judgment, strong technical problem-solving, clear client communication, thoughtful project ownership, and continuous learning in a rapidly changing search and AI environment. Why This Role Matters Search is changing quickly. Nonprofits increasingly need to understand not only how they appear in traditional search results, but also how their content is interpreted, summarized, surfaced, and cited by AI-powered search and answer experiences. This role helps Cause Inspired translate those changes into practical, measurable strategies for clients while building repeatable internal standards that allow the company's search and AI visibility services to grow responsibly. Who You Are Innovative You can translate complex search, AI visibility, analytics, and tracking concepts into practical recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. You are curious about emerging technology and comfortable testing new approaches while maintaining sound judgment about what is useful, measurable, and appropriate for clients. You look for patterns across client work and turn recurring needs into better strategies, systems, documentation, or training. Purpose - Driven You can take an open-ended organizational goal and turn it into a clear search, content, tracking, or visibility strategy. You keep each nonprofit's mission, audience, resources, and measurable goals at the center of your recommendations. You understand that senior-level impact includes strengthening the services, people, and systems around you, not simply completing more individual tasks. Trustworthy & Collaborative You communicate early, document clearly, take ownership of outcomes, and raise concerns when strategy, data, implementation, or client expectations require attention. You are comfortable working directly with clients, internal teams, developers, and leadership while respecting role boundaries and shared accountability. You give and receive constructive feedback in a way that improves work, protects trust, and builds stronger independent judgment. Impactful & Optimistic You bring calm structure to complicated technical or client situations and stay focused on useful next steps. You are willing to teach, coach, present, and share expertise when doing so can improve service quality across the organization. You work respectfully with nonprofit organizations and colleagues across a wide range of backgrounds, identities, faiths, missions, and political perspectives. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in client-facing organic search, SEO, digital analytics, or a closely related visibility role. Demonstrated experience with traditional SEO and a working understanding of emerging AEO, GEO, generative search, and AI visibility practices. Strong technical experience with Google Tag Manager, GA4, Google Search Console, website tracking, and troubleshooting across common website and CMS environments. Working knowledge of technical SEO concepts including crawlability, indexability, site architecture, structured data, redirects, canonicalization, sitemaps, robots.txt, site performance, and mobile usability. Experience with keyword research, competitive analysis, on-page optimization, content strategy, reporting, and common SEO platforms or auditing tools. Strong client-facing communication, presentation, organization, documentation, project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal teams and external technical resources. Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and comfort learning and using company project management, reporting, CRM, and documentation systems. Your Responsibilities Will Include Organic Search and AI Visibility Strategy Develop, document, maintain, and apply Cause Inspired best practices for traditional SEO, AEO, GEO, and emerging AI visibility strategies. Create tailored, data-informed search strategies based on each client's mission, goals, audience, competitive landscape, website, and available resources. Define meaningful KPIs and benchmarks for traditional organic search and AI visibility performance, then use results to refine ongoing strategy. Stay current on search engine changes, generative search developments, AI technologies, industry standards, and emerging tools, translating relevant changes into practical client and internal guidance. Client Strategy and Communication Using your understanding of company services and products to develop content, collateral, and SOP materials to fulfill client-facing SEO services and support the marketing team: Serve as the primary strategic contact for assigned organic search, AI visibility, tag management, and related client initiatives. Lead discovery, strategy, review, and reporting conversations that clearly connect technical work to client goals and business outcomes. Present findings, performance trends, risks, recommendations, timelines, and required client inputs in clear language without unnecessary jargon. Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, realistic expectation-setting, accurate documentation, and reliable follow-through. Support Business Development and Operations with search and AI visibility expertise when evaluating prospective client needs, service fit, scope, or recommendations. Research, Content, and On-Page Optimization Conduct keyword, search-intent, prompt-visibility, content-gap, and competitor research to identify meaningful opportunities for client visibility. Develop content recommendations and briefs that support traditional search performance, answer-engine usefulness, AI extractability, and user experience. Optimize or recommend improvements to titles, metadata, headings, internal links, image text, page structure, content readability, and other on-page elements. Identify opportunities for new or improved landing pages, service pages, articles, FAQs, and other content that can improve discoverability, relevance, engagement, and citation potential. Technical SEO, Tracking, and Website Optimization Using your understanding of company services and products to develop content, collateral, and SOP materials to fulfill client-facing SEO services and support the marketing team: Conduct technical audits using Google Search Console and appropriate SEO auditing tools to identify issues affecting crawlability, indexability, site performance, structured data, or AI accessibility. Lead Google Tag Manager implementation and troubleshooting, including tags, triggers, variables, conversion tracking, consent-related considerations, and validation across common website and CMS platforms. Use GA4, Google Search Console, Tag Manager, and related platforms to verify tracking integrity, analyze performance, and support accurate reporting. Diagnose common CMS, website, hosting, and implementation issues that affect search visibility or tracking, resolving them directly when appropriate and escalating advanced development or infrastructure needs when necessary. Translate technical requirements into clear development tasks, coordinate with internal or external development resources, and verify completed implementation. Service Development, Documentation, and Training Help develop and continuously improve Cause Inspired's SEO, AEO, GEO, tracking, and AI visibility services, workflows, templates, and standards. Create and maintain useful SOPs, internal guidance, client resources, proposal content, presentations, and service collateral related to search and AI visibility. Provide practical internal training and consultation that improves cross-department understanding, technical confidence, and consistency in service delivery. Turn recurring questions, errors, emerging practices, and lessons learned into scalable resources or process improvements where appropriate. Project Management and Cross-Functional Execution Own assigned search and AI visibility projects from strategy through execution, ensuring tasks, resources, dependencies, timelines, and deliverables remain visible and current. Use ClickUp and other required company systems to document decisions, assign or coordinate work, manage follow-through, and maintain clear project status. Collaborate with Strategy & Development, Partner Accounts, Business Development, Operations, Web Development, and other teams to integrate search and visibility work into broader client strategies. Maintain a practical working understanding of related Cause Inspired services, service scope, and client processes so recommendations and handoffs are accurate and coordinated. What Success Looks Like - Summarized KPIs Client Experience and Strategic Outcomes Clients understand what is being recommended, why it matters, how progress is being measured, and what actions are needed next. Search and AI visibility recommendations remain tailored to the client's goals rather than relying on one-size-fits-all tactics. Client work is proactive, timely, well documented, technically sound, and connected to measurable visibility or organizational outcomes. Technical Quality and Measurement Tracking, reporting, technical recommendations, and implemented optimizations are accurate, validated, and reliable. Technical issues are prioritized based on likely impact, client goals, scope, and effort rather than treated as equally urgent. Performance data is interpreted into useful strategic decisions instead of being reported without context. Service Development and Team Impact Cause Inspired's organic search and AI visibility practices remain current, practical, documented, and teachable as the industry changes. Recurring client or implementation challenges are translated into better processes, resources, training, or service standards. Cross-functional teams can rely on this role for clear expertise, thoughtful consultation, dependable follow-through, and useful escalation support. Operational Excellence Projects, tasks, notes, decisions, and handoffs remain current in required company systems. Work is completed efficiently, within service expectations, and with appropriate communication when scope, capacity, risk, or dependencies change. The consultant actively participates in team meetings, training, service development, and collaborative problem-solving rather than working in isolation.
