Social Media & Event Specialist

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a creative, organized, and proactive Social Media & Event Specialist to join the N.V.D. family. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and managing events, handling inquiries, promoting events through various channels, and creating engaging content. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of events and drive attendance through strategic marketing efforts. Key Responsibilities:
Event Management Plan, organize, and execute in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including scheduling, logistics, and vendor coordination. Manage event budgets, contracts, and timelines to ensure successful execution. Handle inquiries and RSVPs promptly and professionally via email, phone, and social media. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to align event goals and messaging. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and accessibility standards for all events. Social Media & Content Creation Develop and implement social media strategies to promote events, engage audiences, and drive attendance. Create compelling content (graphics, videos, captions, and posts) using tools like Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar platforms. Schedule and publish content across platforms/social media channels to maximize reach and engagement. Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies to align with brand goals. Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and build community around events. Event Marketing & Promotion Design and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, ads, social media, local activations) to promote events. Collaborate with external partners (e.g. vendors, local businesses, influencers) to expand reach. Create and distribute email campaigns (e.g., newsletters, invitations, reminders) using tools like Mailchimp or C7. Develop local activation strategies (e.g., pop-ups, partnerships, sponsorships) to increase visibility. Track and analyze campaign performance (e.g., attendance, engagement, ROI) and adjust strategies as needed. Additional Responsibilities Assist in branding efforts to ensure consistency across all event materials and digital platforms. Stay updated on industry trends in social media, event marketing, and spirits (if applicable). Support other marketing initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience:
Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field OR 2+ years of equivalent experience in social media, event coordination, or marketing. is a plus
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X) and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite). Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar design/video editing tools. Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Commerce7). Basic knowledge of SEO, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights), and ads platforms (e.g., Meta Ads, Google Ads) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong writing skills with the ability to craft engaging, clear, and professional content. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with attendees, vendors, and team members. Organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple events and deadlines. Creativity and adaptability to tailor content and strategies for diverse audiences. Physical ability to lift 30 lbs. or more and assist with event setup/teardown. Industry Knowledge Willingness to learn about spirits (e.g., types of liquor, tasting notes, industry trends) if the role involves promoting events in this space. Familiarity with event planning software (e.g., Eventbrite, Cvent) is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Ability to commute to the office in Napa, CA.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the beverage/alcohol industry or hosting private events, festivals, or pop-ups. Knowledge of local event marketing strategies (e.g., partnerships with businesses, restaurants, or community organizations). Experience with photography or videography to capture event highlights.
