Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to lead marketing for our youth hostel. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and executing engaging social media campaigns across various platforms. Your creativity and analytical skills will help enhance our brand presence, connect with our audience, and drive digital marketing success. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management in the travel sector. Established in 1990, the Banana Bungalow is a fun and social hostel with an existing audience of 27,000 Instagram followers. Responsibilities Assist in creating compelling social media content tailored for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Analyze social media metrics using tools like Google Analytics and social media analytics platforms to assess campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies. Develop web presence and SEO strategy. Develop partnerships with local businesses, schools, and travel programs. Collaborate with the design team to produce visually appealing graphics and videos using Canva. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a similar field, or a recent graduate. Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices for content marketing, especially in the travel sector. Basic knowledge of SEO principles and keyword research techniques. Proficiency in filming and editing video content, with access to your own video equipment. Strong written communication skills with an eye for proofreading and content writing. Ability to analyze data using Google Analytics or similar marketing analytics tools to evaluate campaign performance. Creative mindset with graphic design skills and a passion for digital marketing innovation.
