Job Description

ABOUT AMERICAN EXPEDITION VEHICLES
American Expedition Vehicles develops highly engineered components and complete vehicle solutions for off-road, overland, and light-truck applications. AEV products are designed as cohesive systems, with an emphasis on vehicle integration, durability, reliability, and real-world performance. AEV is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW
American Expedition Vehicles is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to help manage AEV's social media presence, engage with automotive enthusiast communities, and create compelling photo, video, and written content. This role is ideal for a skilled communicator who understands off-road vehicles, light trucks, and aftermarket components. The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Brand Manager to support advertising, product launches, customer engagement, and public-facing communications across social media, digital, print, and video channels. The successful candidate will combine strong writing and organizational skills with practical vehicle knowledge and the ability to turn technical product information into clear, credible, and engaging content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Publish and schedule content across AEV's social media networks. Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, product questions, and customer inquiries. Engage professionally with off-road, overland, Jeep, Ram, GM, and light-truck enthusiast groups, including relevant Facebook communities. Create original photography, short-form video, captions, scripts, and other social media content. Produce vehicle walk-arounds, product features, event coverage, installation highlights, educational videos, and behind-the-scenes content. Maintain a high standard of grammar, punctuation, spelling, technical accuracy, and brand consistency. Work with the Marketing Manager and Brand Manager to meet advertising and public-facing communications objectives. Support the development of print, digital, social media, photography, and video assets. Ensure messaging and communications remain aligned across social media, websites, email, advertising, print, and video. Create production schedules, scripts, shot lists, interview questions, and content plans. Adapt long-form content into short-form videos, reels, clips, stories, and paid-media assets. Gather customer and market insights from social conversations, comments, direct messages, enthusiast groups, and campaign performance. Share recurring customer questions, objections, compatibility concerns, and market trends with management. Use customer and performance insights to help improve conversions, campaign effectiveness, and qualified lead generation. Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, platform changes, and emerging conversations within the off-road and light-truck aftermarket. Travel to select automotive, off-road, overland, dealer, and industry events. Capture event photography and video, conduct interviews, and provide real-time social media coverage. Represent AEV professionally when interacting with customers, dealers, partners, media, and enthusiasts. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, digital media, video production, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. Professional experience managing or supporting social media accounts for a brand, business, agency, publication, or organization. Strong grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and writing ability. Experience creating photo and short-form video content. Working knowledge of off-road vehicles, light trucks, and automotive aftermarket components. Familiarity with products such as suspension systems, wheels, tires, bumpers, skid plates, recovery equipment, snorkels, racks, lighting, and related accessories. Ability to translate technical product information into clear, customer-focused content. Strong verbal communication and customer-engagement skills. Experience with photo and video editing software. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and review cycles. Sound judgment when responding to technical questions, criticism, or customer concerns in public forums. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends for events, launches, and content production. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the automotive, off-road, overland, power sports, outdoor, or light-truck aftermarket industry. Experience engaging with automotive enthusiast groups and online communities. Familiarity with social media scheduling, analytics, reporting, and paid advertising platforms. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, or comparable tools. Experience filming vehicles, products, installations, or live events. Familiarity with Jeep, Ram, GM, and other major off-road or light-truck platforms. Experience developing video concepts, scripts, production plans, and multichannel campaigns. A portfolio demonstrating social media content, photography, video production, writing, or automotive-related creative work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work at a computer and use standard office and content-production equipment for extended periods. Ability to carry, set up, and operate photography, video, lighting, and audio equipment. Ability to work in office, shop, warehouse, outdoor, and event environments. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during events and content production. Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours in support of events, launches, travel, and time-sensitive campaigns.
