About the Role We're looking for shining stars to join our entertainment team and help make the magic happen from November 13 through January 3 . Every role at The Light Park plays an important part in the guest experience. As a Costume Character, you'll help bring the event to life by interacting with guests, creating memorable photo opportunities, and adding fun and excitement throughout their visit. This is a highly visible, interactive role for someone who is comfortable performing in a full-body mascot costume and communicating through expressive movement, gestures, and playful interactions. Key Responsibilities Perform as The Light Park mascot or designated character throughout scheduled event nights. Create fun, engaging, and memorable interactions with guests of all ages. Greet and interact with guests in designated areas throughout the event. Pose for photos, give high-fives, participate in celebrations, and help create memorable holiday moments. Participate in community appearances, promotional events, photo/video shoots, and other marketing activities as needed. Represent The Light Park and its sponsors in a positive, professional, and family-friendly manner. Remain in character and consistently portray the character's personality, appearance, and behavior. Communicate effectively with team members and event staff using established nonverbal cues while in costume. Follow all The Light Park safety procedures and instructions from the Entertainment and Operations teams. Assist with costume preparation, storage, cleaning, and basic maintenance as needed. Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Qualifications Energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing, and comfortable performing in front of large crowds. Enjoys interacting with children, families, and guests of all ages. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive guest interactions. Physically able to wear a full-body mascot costume for extended periods. Able to walk, stand, dance, move, and perform while wearing a costume. Comfortable working in both warm and cold outdoor conditions. Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience in mascot performance, entertainment, theater, dance, sports, or other performance-based roles is a plus, but not required . Ability to maintain character confidentiality and remain in character while performing. Must be comfortable with limited visibility and working around large crowds while wearing the costume. Schedule & Working Conditions Seasonal position running November 13 through January 3 . Scheduled shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays . Work takes place in a busy, high-energy outdoor environment with large crowds, music, lighting effects, and varying temperatures. Costume performances may require extended periods of physical activity and limited visibility. Must be able to remain enthusiastic, professional, and guest-focused throughout each shift.
