New Orleans, LA Area Job Overview Majestic Dance Theatre of Arts is seeking a passionate, energetic, and dependable Dance Instructor & Choreographer to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who loves working with students, enjoys creating choreography, and wants to help dancers build confidence, discipline, creativity, and strong technical skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with children, teens, and/or adults and has experience teaching multiple dance styles. This position is perfect for a creative instructor who can bring positive energy into the classroom while creating a fun, structured, and encouraging environment. Our instructors help students grow not only as dancers, but also as performers, teammates, and confident individuals. Responsibilities Teach engaging dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels. Develop age-appropriate lessons incorporating styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, HBCU-style dance, and modern dance . Create and teach original choreography for recitals, performances, competitions, community events, and special programs. Provide instruction that develops technique, musicality, coordination, performance quality, and confidence. Maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment. Use effective classroom management when working with young dancers. Encourage creativity, self-expression, teamwork, and discipline. Adjust instruction to meet the needs of different learning styles and ability levels. Collaborate with other instructors and the Majestic team on performances, events, and special projects. Participate in performances, showcases, community events, and parades when needed . Prepare students for performances and help them feel confident on stage. Communicate professionally with students, parents, and the Majestic team. Arrive prepared and on time with lesson plans and choreography ready for instruction. Qualifications 3+ years of dance experience and/or teaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of multiple dance styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, or HBCU-style dance. Choreography experience with the ability to create original routines. Experience working with children and/or youth programs preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Dependable, professional, energetic, and comfortable working as part of a team. Ability to teach students with different ages, personalities, and skill levels. Theater, performing arts, or stage performance experience is a plus. Must be comfortable participating in performances, community events, and parades. A positive attitude and genuine passion for helping students grow through the performing arts.
