Dance Instructor & Choreographer Anthem Dance Academy at Dominion | San Antonio, TX Independent Contractor | Part-Time /
Flexible Schedule Anticipated Start:
Mid to Late October 2026

3-4 About Anthem Dance Academy Founded in 2020, Anthem Dance Academy at Dominion is a family-focused dance studio serving Leon Springs, The Dominion, and the surrounding San Antonio community. We're building a new instructional team and looking for experienced dancers and dance educators who are passionate about helping students develop strong technique, confidence, creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love of dance. Our new operational structure is designed to allow instructors to focus on what they do best: teaching, choreographing, and developing dancers, while studio leadership handles the administrative side of the business. About the Position Anthem Dance Academy is seeking 2-4 experienced Dance Instructors/Choreographers to join our team beginning in mid to late October. Our instructors may work with dancers ranging from age 3 through the teen years, with students representing a variety of experience and skill levels. Depending on background and expertise, instructors may teach: Dance Fundamentals Ballet Tap Jazz Hip Hop Teen Acro Combo classes for younger dancers Technique and skill-development classes Private lessons Choreography and performance preparation As the studio grows, additional opportunities may become available for camps, clinics, workshops, private instruction, performances, competitive dance, choreography, and other specialty programming. What We're Looking For Successful candidates should be dancers themselves and bring both practical dance experience and demonstrated experience teaching students.
Required qualifications include:
Previous dance teaching experience Strong personal background and experience as a dancer Experience teaching dance technique Competitive dance experience Ability to teach students with varying ages, abilities, and experience levels Ability to create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment Dependability, professionalism, and strong communication skills Reliable transportation Comfort working with children and teens, including students as young as age 3 Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Education, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field Choreography and performance experience Experience coaching or preparing competitive dancers Experience teaching multiple dance disciplines Dance education certification or continuing professional education Membership in the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) or another recognized professional dance/dance-education organization A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. We recognize that excellent dance educators may bring extensive professional, performance, competitive, and teaching experience outside of a traditional degree program. Schedule Anthem's general instructional hours are: Monday-Saturday | approximately 2:00 to 8:00 PM Instructors do not need to be available every day. Individual teaching schedules will be developed based on instructor availability, areas of expertise, student enrollment, and class needs. This is a contract position, making it potentially well suited for professional dancers, choreographers, educators, college-level dance professionals, and experienced instructors seeking a consistent part-time teaching schedule. Anthem instructors will have the opportunity to help shape a growing program, develop relationships with students and families, contribute choreography and creative ideas, and potentially expand into specialty classes, private instruction, camps, clinics, performances, and competitive dance as enrollment grows.
