Job Description

Schedule:
Part-time position supporting Catholic chapel music services at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Lompoc, CA . The Music Director will support weekly worship services, rehearsals, special/holiday services, and scheduled meetings. Exact times are coordinated with the Catholic Priest.
Summary:
The Catholic Music Director will provide music leadership and accompaniment for Roman Catholic worship services at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The position includes preparing liturgical music, leading worship, directing volunteer musicians or choirs, and coordinating weekly music selections with the Priest.
Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years of church music experience as a Music Director or primary musician. Must be proficient in piano/keyboard or guitar and able to read, transpose, and perform music. Must have experience with Catholic liturgical music, hymns, psalms, acclamations, and congregational music . Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong English communication skills.
Duties:
Prepare and perform music for weekly Catholic worship services and special observances. Lead rehearsals and direct volunteer singers, musicians, choirs, or cantors. Coordinate music selections with the Catholic Priest. Provide accompaniment and musical leadership throughout worship services.
