Woodland Fine Arts Academy is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and enthusiastic Music Director to join our Theatre Company production team. The Music Director will be responsible for the musical preparation of our Theatre Company, working closely with the Show Director and creative team to prepare students for a high-quality production. There may also be opportunities to provide individual vocal instruction through WFA's Music Department. Music Director — Theatre Company The Music Director will: Lead musical rehearsals for WFA Theatre Company's production. Teach songs, vocal parts, harmonies, and musical concepts to student performers. Coach students in vocal technique, musicality, diction, phrasing, and performance. Provide constructive and encouraging feedback to help students grow as performers. Prepare students musically for performances and help build confidence in their musical abilities. Collaborate closely with the Show Director, Choreography & Movement Director, and other members of the production team. Attend weekly Theatre Company rehearsals on Monday evenings, approximately 6:15-7:30 PM . Participate in additional production rehearsals as needed, particularly as the production approaches. Prepare and record vocal and/or musical parts for WFA recreational-level classes participating in the production. Create practice tracks, demonstrations, harmonies, or individual parts that allow recreational students to effectively learn their production music. Collaborate with recreational instructors to ensure recorded parts are appropriate for each class's age and ability level. Make adjustments to recordings or musical parts as needed during the production preparation process.

Potential Additional Opportunity:

Voice Instructor Depending on student enrollment and program needs, the Music Director may also have the opportunity to serve as a Voice Instructor within WFA's Music Department .

This may include:

Teaching individual voice lessons to WFA students. Providing instruction based on each student's age, experience, ability, and goals. Teaching vocal technique, music fundamentals, musical theatre, audition preparation, and performance skills. Creating an encouraging environment that builds both musical ability and confidence. Scheduling for individual lessons will be flexible and based on student enrollment and instructor availability . Schedule Theatre Company —

Required:

Mondays, approximately 6:15-7:30

PM Additional Production Responsibilities:

Additional rehearsals, recording, and music preparation may be scheduled as needed with advance notice.

Potential Voice Lessons:

Flexible scheduling based on student enrollment and instructor availability. Qualifications Strong background in vocal performance, music education, musical theatre, or a related field. Previous experience as a Music Director, Vocal Coach, voice instructor, accompanist, or similar role. Strong understanding of vocal technique, harmony, musical preparation, and ensemble performance. Experience working with children and teenagers. Ability to communicate musical concepts clearly and effectively to young performers. Comfortable preparing and recording vocal/musical practice tracks. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Reliable and professional. Experience in youth theatre or performing arts education is preferred. Compensation Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the specific responsibilities undertaken within the role. Additional teaching opportunities will be compensated separately according to WFA's applicable teaching rates.
