Job Description

The position is responsible for instructing grades 7-12 school students in choral music and creating a safe and orderly learning environment. Position motivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation of the art of music.

The position develops students' knowledge, skills, and talents in the field of music, utilizing various instructional techniques appropriate to students' interests and abilities.

Job Requirements :

Must possess or be willing to attain a Bachelor's or Master's degree in education 5-12 or all grades or a related field and meet the Indiana Department of Education licensure eligibility requirements to teach music. Must possess effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of choral music techniques and skills. Must possess the ability to instruct students in choral music.

Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates must hold or be willing to attain a valid Indiana teacher's license in Vocal Music at an intermediate/middle/secondary level. Strong communication, well organized, positive attitude, flexible, dependable, patient, and excellent attendance. Previous experience preferred.
