October 12 Position Overview All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church is seeking a permanent, part-time Staff Pianist to join our music ministry as soon as possible. Working closely with Music Director Kai Brown, this role involves providing all service music and collaborating with the choir to support our dynamic worship services. Key Responsibilities

Sunday Services:

Provide service music for 2-3 times per month with Sunday services (two services on Sundays, September through June), including a prelude, postlude, offertory, 3-4 hymns, a children's benediction, and a choral anthem.

Music Selection:

Select and perform weekly solo works for the prelude, postlude, and offertory. Play from UU hymnals, including lead sheet realizations.

Rehearsals:

Support choir rehearsals every Tuesday evening.

Collaboration:

Accompany the choir (which sings in Sunday Service approximately every three weeks), musicians, and hymn leaders. Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience as a church pianist or similar experience, and ideally 2-3 years of experience as a collaborative pianist.

Musical Versatility:

Ability to perform a diverse range of musical styles comfortably and skillfully.

Reliability:

Ability to be present and engaged for all scheduled rehearsals and Sunday service times. Preferences

• Prior experience working within a Unitarian Universalist church environment.
• Experience accompanying various musicians, including hymn leaders.
• Ability to improvise variations while playing hymns. Schedule Summary
