Position Summary:

The Church Musician serves as an essential contributor to the worship experience by providing skilled, Spirit-led instrumental support during services, rehearsals, and ministry events. This role enhances congregational worship through musical excellence, preparedness, and sensitivity to the flow of the Holy Spirit. The Church Musician collaborates closely with worship leaders, vocalists, and other musicians to create a unified and impactful sound that supports the mission and vision of the church. Key Responsibilities Musical Support, Preparation & Excellence Provide musical support on assigned instruments during all worship services, special services, outside engagements, and rehearsals. Study and practice weekly setlists in advance to ensure full preparedness for musician and worship team rehearsals. Attend weekly rehearsals and additional practice sessions as scheduled. Maintain assigned instruments, equipment, and rehearsal areas; promptly report repair or maintenance needs. Service Participation & Professional Expectations Arrive on time for rehearsals, sound checks, and worship services. Support ministry leaders by maintaining flexibility and professionalism during rehearsals, services, and special events. Participate in Music Ministry and pastoral meetings as required. Communication, Accountability & Administration Stay updated on Music Ministry communications via approved platforms. Notify the Minister of Music and/or Worship Continuity Team Director in advance of any absences, lateness, or early departures. Serve under the direction of the Minister of Music and/or Worship Continuity Team Director, aligning with the vision and goals of the Music Ministry. Collaboration, Team Culture & Ministry Alignment Collaborate with worship leaders, vocalists, and fellow musicians to create a unified and Spirit-led worship experience. Foster a culture of teamwork, encouragement, and mutual respect within the Music Ministry. Spiritual & Personal Expectations Maintain an active and growing relationship with the Lord, demonstrated through prayer, Word study, and the fruit of the Spirit. Faithfully attend worship services, bible study, and support the church through tithes and offerings. Actively participate in ministry events, initiatives and fellowship opportunities. Develop and follow a personal growth plan, including spiritual and professional development. Dedicate time for rest, renewal, and spiritual reflection as needed. Qualifications Proficient skill on assigned instrument(s) with the ability to play confidently in a contemporary, gospel, or blended worship environment. Strong musicality and preparedness , including the ability to read chord charts, follow a music director, and adapt to spontaneous or Spirit-led transitions during worship. Demonstrated spiritual maturity and Christlike character , with a commitment to personal devotion, worship, and serving the church's mission. Excellent teamwork and communication skills , able to collaborate effectively with worship leaders, vocalists, musicians, and production teams. Reliable, punctual, and professional , consistently attending rehearsals, services, and special events while maintaining a teachable, flexible, and cooperative attitude.

$300.00 per week
