Leadership Teaching Full Job Description Job Overview:

As a Sunday school leader/helper in our growing suburban ELCA Lutheran Church, you will help our kids learn more about their faith through a lively curriculum that includes art, games, videos, and interactive storytelling. You will teach/help every Sunday morning in two, 45-minute classes. The kids you will be teaching range in age from K5 through 6th grade and will be separated in classes by grades. You will teach/help in both of the Sunday school sessions we hold while parents worship at 9:00 and 10:30.

Duties:

You will teach from a curriculum that will be provided to you to review several days before Sunday. We will set up your room with all necessary supplies. You just need to bring your heart for God, energy, and desire to inspire our kids. Your hours will be from 8:30-12:30 to allow time for you to prepare and clean up your designated classroom.

Qualifications:

Currently in college, college degree, or older. You must be able to connect well with elementary-age kids. Some experience teaching in any capacity and knowledge of basic Bible stories is preferred. Love for the Christian faith is required.

Dependability is a must:

You must be able to commit to most Sunday mornings through the academic year—September through May.
