ACCOUNT MANAGER
FOLSOM/ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA Job Summary:
Unified Fleet Services provides flexible vehicle and equipment leasing solutions to government agencies and non-profit organizations. We are looking for an outgoing, detail-oriented, and proactive Account Manager to join our California team. This role is a blend of sales support, account management, customer relationship management, and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized and enjoys working with people, building relationships, solving problems, and keeping the details moving behind the scenes. A key part of this position will be supporting the sales process from opportunity through closing. The Account Manager will help prepare proposals, build fleet analyses and evaluations, coordinate pricing, gather information, manage follow-up, and handle the behind-the-scenes details necessary to move opportunities forward. As the employee becomes more experienced, the goal is for them to take increasing ownership of these steps, allowing the sales team to remain focused on developing new business and growing the company. Based in our Folsom, California office, this is a hybrid position with a combination of in-office and remote work. The Account Manager will serve as a local representative for Unified Fleet Services throughout the Folsom/Roseville and greater Northern California market. This includes meeting with customers and prospects in person when needed, attending industry conferences and events, and supporting the sales team with proposals, pricing, fleet evaluations, and customer communications. The right person for this role is an extrovert who enjoys being outward-facing, is comfortable communicating with customers at all levels, and takes pride in being responsive, organized, and thorough. You should be comfortable asking questions, taking initiative, and figuring out solutions when things don't go exactly as planned. We encourage mistakes; it's the way we learn, improve, and refine. Employees who ask questions, take initiative, and are accountable for missteps thrive in our environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support & Deal Execution Support the sales team throughout the sales process, from initial customer inquiry through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution. Help build and prepare customer proposals, quotes, pricing, and other sales materials. Assist with fleet evaluations and fleet analyses, gathering customer and vehicle information and helping develop recommendations and solutions. Gather vehicle and equipment pricing, availability, specifications, and other information from vendors and internal resources. Coordinate the behind-the-scenes details required to move opportunities forward and keep deals on track. Follow up with customers regarding proposals, pricing, documentation, and outstanding information. Help coordinate the various steps involved in closing a deal, including internal communication, customer communication, documentation, and handoffs to operations. Assist with RFPs, solicitations, and other government procurement opportunities as needed. Maintain accurate opportunity information and follow-up activities in company systems. As experience and knowledge grow, take increasing ownership of the sales-support process and become capable of independently managing many of the steps leading to a closed deal. Customer & Account Management Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned California customers and accounts. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with government and non-profit customers. Handle the day-to-day administrative and coordination needs of existing clients, helping ensure customers receive timely and responsive support. Communicate with customers regularly by phone, email, and in person to understand needs and provide support. Manage customer requests and coordinate internally to ensure issues are addressed promptly. Maintain accurate customer and account information in company systems. Identify opportunities within existing accounts and support the sales team in developing those opportunities. Local Market & Customer Engagement Represent Unified Fleet Services as a local presence in the Northern California market. Attend conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as needed. Develop relationships with current and prospective customers through face-to-face meetings and networking. Meet with customers on-site when needed to understand their fleet needs and strengthen relationships. Support sales presentations, fleet evaluations, customer visits, and other in-person meetings. Administrative & Fleet Support Assist with vehicle title and registration processes as needed. Coordinate documentation and paperwork related to vehicle and equipment transactions. Maintain accurate records and ensure customer and transaction information is complete and up to date. Assist with other account, sales, and operational projects as needed.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in account management, sales support, customer service, sales administration, operations, or a similar role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly. Comfortable communicating with customers and representing the company in person. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, customers, and projects simultaneously. Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a remote/internal team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and CRM or project management software. Willingness to attend conferences, customer meetings, and other events as needed. Ability to travel locally and occasionally throughout California for customer meetings and events. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
