About K&D K&D Landscaping has been raising the bar in commercial landscaping since 1986. We are a family-founded company in Watsonville, CA, now about 160 people strong, serving commercial properties, HOAs, municipalities, and luxury estates from Santa Cruz to San Luis Obispo. Our clients recognize a K&D property by its quality and attention to detail, and we back that reputation with a genuine commitment to the communities we work in, including the beautification projects we take on every year. That commitment helped earn K&D numerous business of the year awards, along with other accolades. About the Role This is the relationship at the center of every maintenance account you own. You are the person a client calls first, the one who knows their property, their expectations, and their goals well enough to anticipate what they need next. You will work closely with maintenance supervisors and the operations team to make sure the work in the field matches what was promised in the office, and with your Department Leader to keep your book of business healthy and growing. This role moves fast. You will juggle many relationships at once, each with its own details, timelines, and expectations, and the details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and on schedule. Guidelines and established systems matter here. The best account managers follow them closely while still finding real opportunities to grow the accounts they own. What You Will Do Own the relationship. Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients, building long-term relationships that drive satisfaction, retention, and account growth. Walk the properties. Perform site walkthroughs with clients to confirm quality and service expectations are being met, and catch small issues before they become big ones. Partner with the field. Work closely with maintenance supervisors to uphold quality standards across your accounts, so what clients see in the field matches what they were promised. Spot the opportunity. Proactively identify and present site enhancement opportunities to your clients, then oversee approved enhancement projects in partnership with the operations team. Bring new accounts up to speed. Support the onboarding of new maintenance accounts so they start strong. Know your numbers. Apply a strong understanding of gross margin and financial data to your book of business, review profit performance with your Department Leader, and build and deliver annual budgets for your accounts. Grow what you have. Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients based on their evolving landscaping needs. Keep the record straight. Maintain accurate client records in Aspire (CRM) and SharePoint. What We Look For We care as much about how you work with people as what is on your resume.
The strongest candidate will bring:
A natural relationship builder. You are genuinely interested in the people you work with, whether that is a client, a supervisor, or the operations team, and it shows. A persuasive, teaching communication style. You can walk a client through K&D's policies, programs, and enhancement ideas in a way that builds trust, not resistance. Comfort with a fast pace. You handle a high volume of detail without letting quality or accuracy slip, and you get things done on time. Structure and follow-through. You work well within established guidelines and systems, and you do not let details fall through the cracks. Financial fluency. You understand gross margin and can talk comfortably about the financial health of an account.
