Based in St. Louis, we focus on family law through a multi-faceted model, including traditional court, collaborative practice, and mediation, all designed to minimize the traumatic impact that litigation can have on our clients and their families. We also represent licensed professionals who are subpoenaed to provide testimony or records within the scope of their work in family law matters. We are a close-knit group, and we pride ourselves on a workplace where we support one another through challenges and share in each other's successes. We believe a rich personal life enhances professional success. Who We Want We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Client Intake & Services Specialist to serve as an important point of contact for prospective and existing clients. Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who enjoys helping people, takes ownership of responsibilities, and follows through on commitments. You are comfortable having sensitive conversations, listening without judgment, and helping clients navigate unfamiliar or stressful situations. This role combines new-client intake and consultation scheduling, ongoing client service, and accounts receivable follow-up. You'll be successful if you can balance competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and provide a consistent positive client experience while supporting the firm's operational and financial goals. What You'll Do Serve as a welcoming, professional first point of contact for prospective clients, responding to inquiries and helping them understand the firm's consultation process. Conduct initial intake screening, gather preliminary case information, coordinate conflict checks, and identify matters requiring prompt attorney attention. Schedule consultations, coordinate intake forms and appointment reminders, and follow up with prospective clients to keep the intake process moving forward. Maintain accurate prospective-client information and track inquiries, consultations, and follow-up activities in the firm's systems. Provide responsive, compassionate customer service to existing clients, assisting with routine questions, appointments, client portal access, and administrative needs. Communicate client concerns to the appropriate team members and follow through to help ensure timely resolution. Make courteous, professional accounts receivable collection calls and send payment reminders to clients with outstanding balances. Assist clients with understanding billing procedures, payment options, and outstanding account balances, escalating disputes or special requests as appropriate. Maintain accurate records of client communications, payment commitments, and follow-up activities. Maintain client electronic files, including processing of court notices. Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to support a seamless, person-centered client experience. Follow established confidentiality, communication, and administrative procedures, and participate in trauma-informed care training. Qualifications At least two years of experience in customer service, client intake, administrative support, accounts receivable, or a similar client-facing position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive or difficult conversations professionally. A compassionate, non-judgmental, and solution-focused approach to working with people. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and follow-up deadlines. Confidence communicating by telephone and using business software to document and track work. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is preferred. Experience with intake scheduling, client relationship management systems, or accounts receivable follow-up is a plus. A genuine interest in supporting the firm's trauma-informed, person-centered approach to family law. Why Marler Law Partners At Marler Law Partners, you'll be part of a team committed to changing the way family law clients experience the legal process. We offer a competitive benefits package and a collaborative, supportive work environment that respects the boundaries necessary for every member of our firm to enjoy their personal lives. Our compensation package for this role starts at $37,400, commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
