We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist who can combine strong accounts receivable knowledge with excellent customer communication and follow-through. This is a hands-on, customer-facing AR position responsible for managing customer accounts from deposit through final payment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a B2C or customer-focused environment and is comfortable speaking directly with customers about deposits, outstanding balances, payment expectations, account discrepancies, and past-due amounts. This role works closely with Sales, Scheduling, Operations, and Accounting to keep customer accounts accurate, resolve payment issues, and ensure required payments are received as customer orders move through our process. What You'll Do Manage customer accounts from initial deposit through final payment and account resolution. Communicate directly with customers regarding deposits, outstanding balances, payment deadlines, past-due amounts, and account questions. Make proactive outbound collection calls and maintain consistent follow-up on payment commitments. Review AR aging and prioritize accounts based on balance, age, customer status, and collection risk. Build positive customer relationships while remaining confident and persistent when collecting outstanding balances. Process and accurately apply customer payments, including checks, ACH, credit cards, deposits, and electronic payments. Research and resolve unapplied, short, duplicate, or incorrectly applied payments. Resolve billing discrepancies, payment disputes, credits, adjustments, and other customer account concerns. Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation. Maintain clear records of customer conversations, collection activity, payment commitments, and unresolved issues. Confirm required deposits, financing approvals, and outstanding balances before customer orders advance to the next stage. Partner with Sales, Scheduling, Operations, and Accounting to resolve customer payment issues. Identify accounts with increased collection risk and escalate concerns when appropriate. Prepare AR aging, collections, payment-status, and account-risk reporting. Support month-end reconciliations, reporting, and resolution of outstanding AR items. Identify recurring collection or payment issues and recommend improvements to AR processes. What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, collections, customer account management, consumer finance, billing, banking, or a related financial role. B2C, consumer-facing, or high-volume customer account experience strongly preferred. Experience working directly with customers to collect outstanding balances and resolve payment issues. Comfortable making outbound collection calls and having professional, direct conversations about money and past-due accounts. Experience processing and reconciling customer payments. Experience resolving billing discrepancies, payment disputes, credits, refunds, or account adjustments. Strong customer-service skills with the ability to protect the customer relationship while maintaining accountability for payment. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities at the same time. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting software or an ERP system. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and consistently follow through on open items.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
