Job Description

TRAM is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven professional to join our team as a Sales & Business Development Manager - Railroad Materials . This is a full-cycle business development and sales role covering all states east of the Mississippi River . The successful candidate will identify railroad material opportunities and develop customers and markets for the processed material. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and relationship builder who enjoys finding opportunities, negotiating deals, and creating new business. What You'll Do Source & Sell Railroad Materials Identify upcoming railroad track-removal, rehabilitation, abandonment, surplus, and material-sale opportunities Build relationships with Class I railroads, short lines, regional railroads, railroad contractors, and material sources Monitor projects, job showings, bids, auctions, and other opportunities to identify new opportunities Attend job showings and work with management to develop and submit bids and negotiate purchases Develop customers and find markets for railroad track material; prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and close sales Monitor market conditions, pricing, demand, and inventory to identify opportunities Business Development Develop new customers and expand existing business Build relationships with railroads, contractors, and end users Visit job sites, customers, and potential project locations Represent TRAM at industry meetings, conferences, and trade shows Coordinate with management to ensure project and customer requirements are met What We're Looking For Experience in railroad sales, railroad operations, material purchasing, scrap/industrial materials, commodity sales, asset recovery, or business development Railroad industry experience preferred Knowledge of railroad track material, scrap metal, or related markets desirable Existing industry relationships are a strong plus Proven ability to identify and develop new business Strong sales, purchasing, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to evaluate opportunities from both a purchasing and sales perspective Understanding of pricing, margins, market conditions, logistics, and inventory Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through Ability to work independently across a large geographic territory Willingness and ability to travel regularly Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
Territory & Travel Territory:
All states east of the Mississippi River. Regular travel will be required for job showings, customer visits, material inspections, project development, and industry events. The position will be based out of TRAM's Garrison, KY office , with regular in-person collaboration with management. Candidates outside the immediate area will be considered based on experience and ability to work independently. Compensation Competitive compensation and benefits based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses and commissions tied to sales and business-development results. About
