Community & Business Development Manager Veritas Federal Credit Union | Canton, Mississippi Do you know someone everywhere you go—or somehow make a new connection before you leave? And it isn't about setting up a table, handing out brochures, and calling that business development. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting out into the community, meeting people, building trust, opening doors, and turning introductions into real relationships. What you'll do You'll help grow Veritas by building relationships with employers, schools, community organizations, nonprofits, civic groups, and other people and organizations that connect us with potential members. You'll represent Veritas at community events, sponsorships, employee events, financial education sessions, lunch & learns, and other outreach opportunities. But showing up is only the beginning. The real work is what happens next: following up, staying connected, identifying opportunities, creating meaningful next steps, and helping turn community relationships into membership and growth. You'll also help us explore opportunities to connect with schools, teens, and young adults through practical financial education and community partnerships. A typical week might include Meeting with an employer or community organization to explore a partnership Attending a local event and making meaningful new connections Following up with people you met the week before Conducting a financial lunch & learn Reaching out to a school, nonprofit, or civic organization Planning your next 30-60 days of community activity Connecting a potential member with the right Veritas team member Tracking which relationships are moving forward—and which need a different approach Some events happen outside traditional business hours, so this role requires some early morning, evening, and weekend availability. We want to see relationships develop, people engage, opportunities move forward, and more individuals in the Canton area understand who Veritas is and how we may be able to help. You'll be successful when community connections turn into active relationships, referrals, financial education opportunities, membership growth, and stronger awareness of Veritas throughout the market. Experience we value Experience in business development, community relations, relationship management, nonprofit development, recruiting, hospitality, financial services, education, healthcare outreach, B2B relationship development, or similar work can all translate well into this position. Financial institution experience is helpful, but it is not the most important thing. We can teach products. We are looking for someone who already knows how to build relationships, create opportunities, and follow through. Knowledge of the Canton and Madison County community is a strong plus.
