Regional Technical Sales Manager

Job Description

Please note: This is not an IT position. About Sympatec We are a specialized provider of industrial and research instrumentation, serving customers who rely on accuracy, reliability, and technical expertise. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working directly with customers to solve real-world measurement and process challenges. You will work closely with experienced engineers and sales professionals to develop deep product knowledge and gradually take ownership of customer relationships. What you will be doing Early Stage (0-6 months): Learn our product line, applications, and customer industries Perform measurements for customers in our application lab Write measurement reports Support senior sales staff with quotes, technical discussions, and follow-ups Participate in customer calls and occasional site visits Develop working knowledge of instrumentation and calibration practices Mid Stage (6-18 months): Manage smaller accounts and inbound opportunities Conduct technical discussions with customers Prepare quotes and proposals independently Begin identifying new business opportunities
Longer Term:
Own key accounts and regional customers Develop long-term customer relationships Drive revenue growth through technical solution selling
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical/electrical aptitude Clear communication skills (you can explain technical concepts simply) Willingness to learn a complex product line Comfortable interacting with customers in a professional setting Minimum 5 years' experience in one of the following capacities Technical sales Field service or applications engineering Industrial equipment, instrumentation, or controls Familiarity with calibration, measurement systems, or process industries Preferred (but not required): Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field Familiarity with calibration, measurement systems, or process industries At times you may be working with some of our team members in our German headquarters.
Work requirements:
An expected 10% - 20% of your time will be domestic travel Occasional travel to our headquarters in Germany may be required The remainder of the time you will be working from our US headquarters in Pennington, NJ Occasional heavy lifting is required- up to 75 pounds to install the equipment on a bench A valid driver's license, US work permit and a passport valid for international travel are required Not a
