$24-28 FUNCTION The Urban League of Rochester, NY, Inc. (ULR) seeks to build a stronger Rochester by creating resources and services that support community and economic development. The Entrepreneurship & Wealth Building Division provides technical assistance, business coaching, workshops, resources, and entrepreneurial support to small business owners and individuals seeking to start or grow a business. The Manager, Business Development is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center (EAC), working under the direction of the Divisional Director - Business Development. The Manager supports effective program delivery, client engagement, community outreach, partnerships, grant compliance, and achievement of contractual program goals. The position works collaboratively with Business Development Specialists, consultants, community partners, and other programs within the Entrepreneurship & Wealth Building Division to ensure entrepreneurs receive high-quality services that contribute to business growth and sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the day-to-day operations, programming, and service delivery of the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center in alignment with strategies and priorities established by the Divisional Director - Business Development. Implement EAC programming and initiatives designed to support entrepreneurs at various stages of business development. Partner with the ROC Women's Business Center and other Entrepreneurship & Wealth Building programs to coordinate workshops, business coaching, technical assistance, referrals, and mutually beneficial programming. Coordinate client outreach, recruitment, orientations, workshops, community presentations, and other activities designed to increase awareness and participation in EAC services. Provide one-on-one business coaching and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners based on individual business needs. Assist clients with identifying business resources, training opportunities, procurement opportunities, financing resources, and other services that support business development and growth. Provide clients with information regarding city, state, and federal contracting and procurement opportunities available to small businesses. Coordinate the development and delivery of trainings, workshops, educational resources, and program materials for EAC participants. Maintain accurate and complete client files, program records, documentation, and supporting materials in accordance with agency, grant, and contractual requirements. Track program activities, client participation, outcomes, milestones, and performance indicators necessary to demonstrate progress toward EAC contractual goals. Prepare and submit required program documentation and information to the Divisional Director - Business Development for review within established timelines. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, annual, and other required program reports in accordance with contractual and agency requirements. Monitor progress toward established program goals and identify potential challenges, service gaps, or areas requiring additional attention, communicating concerns and recommendations to the Divisional Director. Coordinate activities with approved consultants, including scheduling, participant engagement, program-related documentation, and submission of consultant billing information. Maintain effective internal communication with the Divisional Director, Business Development Specialists, consultants, and other appropriate agency personnel to support coordinated program delivery. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, entrepreneurial resource partners, financial institutions, government agencies, and other organizations that support small business development. Attend community, local, regional, and statewide meetings, trainings, conferences, and partner activities relevant to the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center and small business ecosystem. Attend Small Business Teaming Advisory, Federal Reserve, Small Business Administration, Better Contractors Bureau, and other relevant meetings as appropriate. Positively represent the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center, Entrepreneurship & Wealth Building Division, and Urban League of Rochester in the community. Participate in professional development and additional training necessary to maintain effective program operations and service delivery, as approved by the Divisional Director. Participate in agency meetings and contribute program-level information, recommendations, and solutions related to Entrepreneurship Assistance Center operations. Support Urban League programs, initiatives, functions, and fundraising events as appropriate. Perform other program-related duties as assigned by the Divisional Director - Business Development.

Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience providing business development, entrepreneurship, technical assistance, coaching, or related client services preferred. Knowledge of local and regional small business resources and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Ability to coordinate multiple programs, projects, events, and deadlines simultaneously.
