4RKids is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-driven Business & Community Development Manager to help grow community partnerships, business opportunities, merchandise and product ideas, volunteer engagement, and meaningful work opportunities for the individuals we serve. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, connecting with the community, developing new ideas, managing multiple projects, and turning opportunities into action. The Business & Community Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director and other members of the 4RKids leadership team. This position will have the opportunity to develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations, identify new revenue and contract-work opportunities, support merchandising and product development, coordinate designated customer and online orders, engage volunteers, assist with tours and events, and help expand meaningful vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. What You'll Do Business Development & Community Partnerships Identify potential customers, community partners, contract-work opportunities, wholesale opportunities, sponsorships, and recurring projects. Build and maintain relationships with businesses, schools, civic groups, community organizations, donors, and other partners. Attend networking events, community activities, and meetings as a representative of 4RKids. Follow up with prospective partners and customers to move opportunities forward. Look for creative ways community partnerships can support both the mission and financial sustainability of 4RKids. Merchandising & Product Development Work with the Retail & Recreation Services Manager to develop creative displays, seasonal themes, client-made products, and special shopping experiences. Assist with product ideas, packaging, presentation, merchandising, and pricing concepts. Identify trends and community interests that could become new products, workshops, activities, or client work opportunities. Help develop seasonal experiences, workshops, parties, and other revenue-generating opportunities. Customer & Online Order Coordination Monitor designated orders from approved online marketplaces and sales channels. Coordinate supplies and products needed to complete orders. Track order progress and help ensure production, packaging, mailing, or delivery occurs on time. Communicate with customers regarding order details, timelines, questions, and follow-up as needed. Client Work Opportunity Development A major part of this position is helping create meaningful work opportunities for individuals with disabilities participating in 4RKids vocational programs.
Responsibilities may include:
Identifying recurring contract work, assembly projects, product opportunities, and other appropriate community-based projects. Connecting with businesses and organizations that may have projects suitable for 4RKids clients. Coordinating opportunities with vocational and client-services staff to determine capacity, staffing needs, timelines, and client appropriateness. Helping include clients in appropriate community, business-development, and volunteer activities based on their individual goals and abilities. Volunteer Coordination Help develop and coordinate volunteer opportunities throughout 4RKids. Serve as a point of contact for designated volunteers, student groups, interns, civic organizations, and community-service participants. Work with staff to identify meaningful and appropriate volunteer projects. Assist with tracking volunteer hours, participation, and engagement. Marketing, Tours & Community Outreach Draft and schedule approved social media content. Assist with flyers, event promotion, content calendars, and digital updates. Gather photos, stories, program information, and other content highlighting the mission of 4RKids. Assist the Executive Director with facility tours for businesses, schools, donors, civic groups, prospective partners, and other visitors. Be comfortable explaining the 4RKids mission, programs, vocational opportunities, retail operations, and community impact. Assist with presentations, partnership meetings, outreach activities, and other organizational initiatives. Events & Special Projects Assist with or coordinate designated events, community activities, recreational programs, and special projects. Coordinate designated donation requests, gift baskets, gift certificates, and promotional materials. Support organizational priorities and special projects assigned by the Executive Director. Travel locally for outreach, meetings, deliveries, buying events, tours, and community activities. Participate in occasional evening or weekend events as needed. Successful candidates should have:
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and follow-through. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Creativity and the ability to generate new ideas. The ability to manage multiple projects, relationships, and deadlines. Comfort speaking with businesses, donors, volunteers, community groups, and members of the public. The ability to work independently while also collaborating across departments. A professional, positive approach when representing 4RKids in the community. A willingness to jump in and assist where needed in a growing nonprofit organization. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Additional education in business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, retail, community development, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in business development, customer service, sales, events, merchandising, volunteer coordination, community engagement, nonprofit work, marketing, or a related area is preferred. Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
