The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the overall efficiency of our grocery store operations. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues that arise during the checkout process. Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are readily available for customers. Conduct product demonstrations to promote sales and enhance customer experience. Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding spaces. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and provide support as needed. Skills Proficient in using POS systems and handling cash transactions. Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, with supervisory experience being a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Ability to perform merchandising tasks including stocking shelves and organizing displays. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. Knowledge of phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone is beneficial.
